The World Federation of International Music Competitions has represented and supported leading music competitions for 60 years. Piano, voice, strings, winds, chamber music, conducting, composition, jazz; an array of disciplines spread out over more than 100 cities on all five continents. These competitions all share common artistic standards and strive towards a common goal: to reveal new talents to the music world. The WFIMC guarantees the high quality and integrity of its member competitions, who adhere to a set of common rules and commit to providing their utmost for the artists that they reveal. It supports its members with valuable services and offers a platform for exchange, advice and support. It plays a major role within the world of arts and culture, giving voice to music competitions and to all the young artists whose careers have taken off thanks to them. The WFIMC thus contributes to the renewal of classical music and jazz, helping it to develop within a constantly evolving world. For more information, visit our website: www.wfimc.org

HENRYK WIENIAWSKI INTERNATIONAL VIOLIN COMPETITION For over eighty years Henryk Wieniawski has lent his name to international violin competitions. The year 2021 will see the sixteenth edition of the event held (since 1952) in Poznań. Expected to turn up are young virtuosos of a new generation, ones already brought up in the globalised world: oftentimes born in one country, educated in another, living in still another, and daily exposed to the influence of varied cultures. What unites them, however, is music, and, as always, the urge to challenge their peers’ talents, technical skills and artistic imagination.
