Annual Report 2022

A Message from the Board President

Dear Friends of Weymouth,

Wow! What a year this has been. Accomplishing over 100 events in one year was a big goal but we did it and we thank you for making it happen. Despite these uncertain economic times, you have continued to prove that Weymouth is important to you and that Weymouth is worth supporting.

Our mission is so clear, and we are allowing it to shape our new programs by serving the whole community in unique and vital ways. From the music, literary and art events to Weymouth Equestrians, you have stepped up to ensure that these programs can thrive and grow. Our accomplishments for this year would never have been possible without the help of our supporters, volunteers, and staff that make up our Weymouth family. Together with our vision for the future and a rich history steeped in the communitymindedness of James and Katharine Boyd, our Weymouth family will do big things in 2023!

Weymouth is not just a big white house on the hill that nobody lives in. Weymouth is alive, vibrant and lived in every day by this community. The sounds of horses, hounds, music, debate, lecture and discourse still sound throughout the grounds like it did when the Boyds lived here. It is because of you that the legacy of James and Katharine lives on, and it is because of you that this house stands here in its beautiful glory for our entire community.

Please help us continue this impactful work and thank you for being a member of the Weymouth family.

Yours for Weymouth,

A Message from the Executive Director

To echo Ashley, what a year this has been! I completed my first year as Executive Director this July, and looking back, it is breathtaking to see all that we have accomplished together. Thanks to the tireless efforts of YOU, our incredible volunteers and supporters, we have shepherded the historic transformation of every inch of Weymouth, with major restoration projects completed on all of our buildings, gardens and grounds, and of course the historic Boyd House. We have seen a return to in-person events and inspiring performances, with sold-out rooms for conversations ranging from social justice and the arts, to the conspiracies behind a violin and its chorus of musicians. We have celebrated the anniversary of 100 years in the Boyd House through presenting 100 events as part of the “Weymouth Wonderful 100,” and we are nearing the finish line of our $1.1 million campaign for the future of Weymouth.

THANK YOU. For your support, for your ideas, for your energy, and for your vision of what Weymouth could become over the next 100 years. We are indebted to you, and it is an honor to help continue this legacy of contribution and community-building.

With deep gratitude,
