John Eugene Von Sprecken 20 Oct. 1914-27 Oct. 1996 In loving memory of my father who died 20 years ago, Oct. 27, 1996. John Dirty thirties, world war two John made it right straight through Hard times never wore him down Even tempered not a frown With love Audrey at his side She had his heart, was his pride Then a girl and two sons He felt good fortune had a run Best farm in the country he would beam This always was his lifelong dream Sincere and honest he loved his life But never as he did his wife The years rolled by in quick array He stooped a bit and turning gray He found it time, yes he must Leave this earth although unjust Audrey left his side that day While nurses ministered as he lay But he would not let them start Until he watched his love depart Then as she passed his window near He smiled and watched her disappear He had to see her once again His everything since love began A love like this not common seen A rarity in mortal beings He left us then, he left to soon To brood under a cold steel moon But sleep would come as I understood John’s strong love, his heart, his good. ~Gary Von Sprecken MALLEY, Gary - October 22, 2001, 15 years have passed. October 20, 2014 - Uncle Jim. October 12, 2009 - Mom. October 1, 2016 - Aunty Marg. “Forever in our hearts” ~Love, Terry, Karla, Steve, Dane, Emma Von Hagen and Britta and Justin Tracey. **42/42
