Extra-curricular Activities Students at West Moreton Anglican College are able to participate in a variety of extra-curricular programs. Extra-curricular activities within the College are classified under three general areas – Sport, Performing Arts (Music and Dance) and Activities.

Sport West Moreton Anglican College is very proud to be a part of The Associated Schools (TAS) sporting competition each year. TAS Sport: Students in Years 7 to 12 take part in the TAS Sports competition. Students are able to participate in the following sports: • Trimester 1: Boys Cricket and Volleyball, Girls Basketball and Tennis • Trimester 2: Boys Rugby Union and Tennis, Girls Netball and Hockey • Trimester 3: Boys Soccer and Basketball, Girls Volleyball and Touch Football. The TAS sporting competition allows students to participate in their choice of sport across the three trimester seasons. WestMAC was named TAS Cricket and Hockey Champion School 2018. A fantastic achievement which shows our depth of talent in these two sports. Congratulations to the following students and coaches who won TAS premierships or championships in the following teams:

Our students featured strongly at representative school sport across the region, state and nation. WestMAC students filled 280 positions in district sporting teams; a total of 86 students then went one step further in representing the College in Metropolitan West regional sporting teams. Nine students represented Queensland School Sport at a National Championship and two students were either selected in an Australian Schools team or medalled at an Australian Schools Championship Carnival. This is a fabulous achievement and well done to all WestMAC students who chose to participate in the school sport representative pathway showing determination and grit to achieve their goals. Junior TAS Sport: Students in Years 4 to 6 take part in the Junior TAS competition. Students are able to participate in the following sports: • Term 1: Swimming, Cricket, Hockey

• 13 Boys Swimming

• Term 2: Cross Country, Netball, Rugby Union

• 16 Girls Swimming

• Term 3: Athletics, Basketball, Soccer

• Senior 3rds Boys Cricket

• Term 4: Tennis, Touch Football

• Senior 2nds Cricket • Intermediate 3rds Cricket • Senior 2nds Girls Hockey • Year 9 Girls Hockey

Notable success stories on the Junior School sporting field included: • WestMAC Athletics Team crowned the inaugural Overall Zone Athletics Percentage Points Winner

• Year 7 Girls Hockey

• Year 6 Boys crowned Ipswich District T20 Blast Cricket Champions for the fourth year in a row

• Year 7 Boys Football

• Three Champion Age Groups

• Year 7 Girls Volleyball

• Six Metropolitan West representatives; and

• 16 Girls Athletics

• Nine undefeated Junior TAS teams

• Open Girls Athletics
