Chamber Hosts Broadband Discussion The Westmoreland County Chamber of Commerce was honored to host a comprehensive discussion with state and local leadership to begin an effective “Broadband Internet” outline and plan for the region.

Due to the recent passage of House Bill 2071 which would create the Pennsylvania Broadband Development Authority and the additional $100 million from the recent infrastructure plan, it’s extremely critical that local/state leadership, key entities and organizations are on the same page and working together to move this initiative forward. Most importantly, to ensure all future goals are aligned with the region’s “Reimagining Westmoreland County” Comprehensive Plan.

This time of year should be for making memories with family. But these days can be a very difficult time of year for children in Westmoreland County who have experienced abuse or neglect. Many of these children have been removed from their homes and placed in foster care. They’re attending court hearings, adjusting to new foster homes and transitioning to new schools. That is a heavy burden for a child to carry alone.

We at CASA of Westmoreland are here to stand by these children and give them the hope and support they wholeheartedly deserve.

A CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) is a caring, consistent adult who will be there for a child experiencing the loneliness and uncertainty of foster care this holiday With over 400+ children in care Help an abused child find their voice season and throughout the year.
