DANCE CLASS LEVELS:
Please refer to the guide below for information on which class level best suits your child. Each level is based on skill, age and years of experience. If you are unsure which level to select please email youthteendance@cityofwestminster.us. Preschool – For children ages 3-6 and strongly recommended prior to entering a level 1 and above. Children learn classroom etiquette, basic mobility skills, and explore the joy of movement. Level 1 – For kids who are new to dance but have some previous dance background. Classes are designed to teach fundamentals. Ages 5+*
*Ballet has some stricter requirements, Ballet 1 is for ages 6+ Level 2 – For kids who have taken 2-3 years of classes and have at least baseline technique skills or an instructor recommendation. Classes are designed to expand skills and fitness. Ages 8+ Level 3 – Advanced classes for kids who are at or near Company level skills and experience. Classes are designed to maximize dance fitness, skills, and potential. Recommended Age: 8+, with at least 2-3 years of dance experience and a high level of technique competency or recommended by instructor.

CLASS FOOTWEAR AND GENERAL INFORMATION
Tap shoes should be worn for tap classes, athletic shoes for hip hop classes and ballet shoes for all other classes. Please no Crocs, socks, bare feet or flip flops. Parents and family members are asked to wait in the lobby during class but are invited to observe the last five minutes of class.
Ballet
Graceful and elegant, ballet is the backbone of most dance styles. This class is a great starting point to learn strength and stamina building for feet, legs, and arms.

Cheerleading Camp

Westminster Dance Company
If you are interested in taking your dance to the next level, consider joining the Westminster Company Dance Team! Members have access to company only classes, dance in various events and participate in competitions. Fee includes 30 weeks of classes, 2 competitions and a t-shirt. All participants (even returning members) must have an instructor recommendation or audition with the dance company director. AUDITIONS:

You will receive an email to complete your child’s online health profile through ePACT after registration. These must be complete by May 3. If your child is currently on an IEP or needs special accommodations, please email a copy of the behavior plan to cmcdonal@cityofwestminster.us.
Refunds:
Full refunds are no longer available. Only half the cost will be refunded if a cancellation notice is given at least two weeks prior to the date being canceled.
Funding is available through CCAP. Please contact your county for information on CCAP registration and qualification. Once qualified, please contact Seth.
