Play On! CADS

A cash-strapped community theatre troupe are rehearsing an original murder mystery, “Murder Most Foul”. The good news is the haughty authoress has agreed to let them perform the show for no charge. The bad news is she constantly keeps adding new scenes, new characters, and changing who the killer is, as opening night approaches. Act I is a rehearsal of the dreadful show. Act II is the near disastrous dress rehearsal, and the final act is the actual performance in which the cast and crew learn firsthand “what can go wrong, will go wrong” as they give their best efforts for the show to go on. When the author, a haughty woman, decides to give a speech on the state of the modern theatre during the curtain calls, the audience is treated to a madcap climax to a thoroughly hilarious romp.

Booking Information westcliffclacton.co.uk tickets@westcliffclacton.co.uk 01255 4333 44 (Option 1) OPENING HOURS

The Box Office is open from 10am – 4.30pm from Monday to Saturday (closed lunchtime 12.30pm – 1.30pm) We are also open from 1 hour before any performance. On-line bookings can be made 24 hours a day.

PAYMENTS

We accept all major credit and debit cards except American Express. Cheques (If booking in person, by post or by phone) should be made payable to West Cliff (Tendring) Trust. Bookings should be paid for within five working days.

BOOKING FEE

A booking fee of £1 will apply on all ticket sales and reservations made online, over the phone or in person, whether paying by cash, cheque or credit/debit card. Prices that are displayed on this website include this fee.

Why do we need to charge a booking fee?

Since the loss of our Council grant, and in order to provide you with the best entertainment possible, we need to charge a booking fee to secure our share of the ticket income. On average, we receive less than 20% of the ticket price for the shows that you see at the West Cliff, with the majority of the ticket price going to the artists, producers and promoters. Charging a booking fee ensures that 100% of this extra revenue comes to the theatre. Thank you for your understanding and continued support of the West Cliff Theatre.

POSTAGE

Patrons who require their tickets to be posted should send a SAE (If booking in person or by phone). Alternatively we can post your tickets for £1.50 postage & handling charge.

RESALE

Please check your tickets carefully when booking as we are unable to offer refunds on tickets sold unless a show is cancelled in advance. We will try to resell tickets that cannot be used, however this will only be possible in the event that we are sold out.

Tower Road Clacton-on-Sea CO15 1LE CHILDREN & BABES IN ARMS

Children under the age of 13 MUST be accompanied by an adult. For certain shows, babes in arms under the age of 18 months are welcome free of charge and may share a seat with you. For some performances, we regret children under 18 months are not admitted to the auditorium. Baby changing facilities are available in the accessible toilet. Prams and buggies are not permitted inside the auditorium for safety reasons.

WHEELCHAIR SPACES

Please inform the Box Office if you are using a wheelchair or electric scooter. Scooters take up more space than a standard wheelchair so it is vital we know this when booking out the space. Please Note: It is not always possible for us to store Large Mobility Scooters inside the building. We will always try to accommodate them, but cannot guarantee this. Walking Frames and other aids will need to be stored in the foyer during a performance.

PHOTOGRAPHY & RECORDING DEVICES

The use of photography, mobile and recording equipment is strictly prohibited in the auditorium.

ALCOHOL CONSUMPTION AND ACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOUR

We reserve the right to refuse admission or ask you to leave for behaviour we feel is likely to risk the safety of your fellow audience members, affect the enjoyment and/or running of the performance. This includes ticket holders being under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol and who are acting aggressively. NO REFUNDS will be given in these circumstances. Only alcohol purchased from our Stage Door Bar can be consumed on the premises. Please ask a member of staff for a plastic tumbler if you wish to consume your drink in the auditorium. Additional bag searches may be in place at certain performances. These are for your safety and are a condition of entry.

DISCLAIMER

The information in this brochure is correct at the time of going to press. We reserve the right to make alterations to the programme if necessary. We cannot be held responsible for cancellations or changes made by external promoters/hirers of the theatre.

* Operational times may vary due to circumstances beyond our control.
