WASO’s Education Week shines the spotlight on the colour and variety of our Education & Community Engagement portfolio, presenting a selection of programs for students and music appreciators of all ages, including free performances for the general public. In 2017, award winning British composer and music educationist Paul Rissmann joins us for a week-long musical adventure, exploring gorgeous children’s books across a variety of highly interactive programs, including a performance in Mandurah.

This performance is the final presentation of pieces by emerging composers participating in our flagship training program, the Composition Project. Working with renowned composer and mentor James Ledger, participants write an original composition for a WASO chamber ensemble.

When King Colin’s golden underpants go missing, it’s Sir Scallywag to the rescue… what does it matter that he’s only six?! This laugh-out-loud musical adventure is based on the book by Giles Andreae, illustrated by Korky Paul.
