Driven by a belief that quality musical experiences should be an opportunity that all people have in their lives, our Education & Community Engagement program has been shaped to cater for audience members big and small, wherever they live across our state. New partnerships will assist us to reach even more people than ever before at the Perth Concert Hall, in community settings and classrooms across Western Australia. We are proud to celebrate the achievements of our nationally recognised programs, excited about new initiatives and delighted that we can continue to offer many opportunities for free, to ensure access for individuals who live with social, financial or geographical disadvantage. We aim to provide children with valuable opportunities to expand creativity, self-expression, academic success and self-esteem. We hope to engage young people from an early age, and share a life-long journey with them. With this in mind, we offer a full range of participatory workshop and performance programs for babies through to Rusty Musicians, and everyone in between. In our third Education Week, we welcome international educationist, composer and presenter Paul Rissmann as our artist in residence. Featured on the front cover, Paul is visiting us as part of an extensive Australian Tour that will see him present three different programs including our new EChO11 ensemble in metropolitan Perth and regional WA. Paul’s programs will spark imaginations through composition, illustration and the written word. I would like to thank my dedicated colleagues and the passionate artists and organisations who work with and inspire us. I sincerely thank all of the individual donors, Trusts and Foundations, Corporate and Government partners who enable us to reach diverse audiences. I am extremely proud to present this program to you. We look forward to sharing our music with you in 2017.
