Bournville Sports Crown Green Bowls Club

generally runs from mid-March to midOctober. Plenty of exercise for all ages. Thanks to good economic measures by our committee, we are able to keep the annual membership down to £35 per year plus an additional £10.40 for membership of the Cadbury Club of which we are now a sports section. Junior membership is available at a vastly reduced rate.

The club was founded in 1896 as a section of Bournville Athletic with one set of bowls. Last year we celebrated our 120th anniversary and we are looking to encourage more people to take up the sport. The club plays in leagues five days a week with all leagues fielding nine mixed teams with the only age restrictions being in the Tuesday and Friday leagues where you have to be over 60. There are also many internal competitions held during the season where the bowling is always supplemented with tea and cakes, not to mention the occasional barbeque.
