Destination Overview:

Welcome to Carthage, Missouri, a unique crossroads of architecture, history, art, and inspiration. Established in 1842, then burned to the ground during the Civil War, and reconstructed in the Victorian era, Carthage boasts progress at every turn. During the mining boom, Carthage had more millionaires per capita than any other city in America. Its families and industries left the town with a legacy of architectural marvels that are now featured in four districts listed on the National Registry of Historic Places, including one of the largest residential districts in Missouri. Each building houses people or businesses with impressive tales that continue to intrigue travelers today. Civil War guerillas, Wild West outlaws, and powerful business men and women have left their mark on Carthage history. Today, Carthage is a thriving community of art and inspiration with live theater, public museums, a variety of art galleries, the Historic Carthage Square, Red Oak II, and Precious Moments Park and Chapel.

Combine the trip with our other seasonal favorites like Precious Moments, Way of Salvation Driving Lights Tour, and shopping on the historic Carthage Square to make an amazing holiday memory for your group.

Progressive Dinner on the Square A true favorite of our Australian group! Enjoy a relaxing evening on the square with drinks and appetizer, a full-plated meal, and coffee and dessert at three different restaurants on the square! Your guide will tell your group the history of each building and give a tour of the square. Linger a little longer on the square by booking a live band or dance instructor at a local dance hall for your group!
