ADD SOME SPACE BETWEEN THE MASS AND LIFT IT UP. WE GAIN AN EXTRA SPACE BELOW AND UNEXPECTED SPATIAL EXPERIENCE RIGHT FROM THE ENTRANCE.

ENTRANCE

THE SPLIT LEVEL CONCEPT ENABLES THE OCCUPANT TO FEEL THAT THEY TRAVEL ONLY HALFWAY THE USUAL DISTANCE UP AND DOWN THE STAIR. BY THE TIME THEY WERE OLDER, THEY MAY USE THE GF LEVEL BEDROOM AS MASTER BEDROOM.

TO SOFTEN THE HEIGHT DIFFERENCE, A PLANT-COVERED “CASCADE” WAS DESIGNED. THE GAP IN BETWEEN ITS STRUCTURE LET THE AIR FLOW. THE TERRACED GARDEN AND VOID WILL OPTIMALLY ALLOW NATURAL CROSS-VENTILATION THROUGH THE HOUSE, TEMPERING THE HOT AND HUMID TROPICAL WEATHER.

THE MAIN CONCEPT OF THE HUB IS A SPACE TO ENCOURAGE THE COMMUNITY SOCIAL EXPERIENCE. THEREFORE IT IS NECESSARY TO MAXIMISE COMMUNAL AREA WHERE THEY CAN GATHER AND COMMUNICATE WITH EACH OTHER. IT IS ALSO IMPORTANT TO MAINTAIN TEMPERATURE AND VISUAL COMFORT, THUS THE DESIGN WAS FULLY INTERGRATED WITH NATURE.

MODULES OF SYNTHETIC RATTAN WAS PROPOSED AS THE MATERIAL OF THE VITRACE SKIN. THE DETAIL OF LOCAL WEAVING TECHNIQUES WILL ENHANCE USER EXPERIENCE. 26

THE GAP CREATES AN INTERVAL TO WHICH IS ACKNOWLEDGED WITHIN PEDESTRIAN’S FIELD OF VIEW, THUS MAKING THE 8-STOREY TALL BUILDING SEEMS AMIABLE.
