From experiencing design through a plethera of different fields and diciplines I have developed a diverse skill set, which has given me confidence in my abilities as a designer. My experience working in bespoke kitchen design has given me a fire to pursue a career in the industry

This was one of the first projects I worked on at Charlie Kingham from initial design meetings to the designs installation. I was involved in every stage of the process including design plans, renders, service plans and appliance orders. The design utilises a simple box cornice with inset J-handles on the cabinetry. This is complimented by a legless lay-on door styling and floating oak shelves, providing the kitchen with a contemporary look. Then, for a traditional twist we implemented a brass worktop and under-shelf wall railings.

In a set of client meetings we took the future owner through several mood boards for possible outcomes for their projects. These three shots were the most important photographs for inspiration and were used to come up with the final design.

Kitchen design
My role at Charlie Kingham was as a design intern, and due to the small nature of the company I was involved in all aspects of the buisness. My role in the showroom was to reel in clients to discuss ideas for projects with them, answering questions they may have about the bespoke cabinetry we offered. In the studio we would start every project from scratch. I would draw up accurate models of the interior, using Sketchup Pro, following a site check. From them, I would produce proffesional design plans for the client and fully annotated plans for joinery. In the later stages we would render the designs for the clients using V-ray and then by linking them to I movie and our sketchup file, use them to produce a dramatic virtual tour of their project in our cinema room. My role would not be complete until the finished kitchen was installed on site.

- Uniquely designed to improve posture and concentration time span - Stackable when not in use - Strong, durable and light - Available in 6 vibrant stool colours - Stable - Made from EVA foam for comfort
Working alongside osteopathists and teachers to redesign the concept of the school chair. By utilising proffesional feedback and anthropomorphic data for childeren between ages 4-6, the saddle seat form has been carefully sculpted to allow full variation of posture and also for comfort. This design is to encorage not only a healthy body, but also maximum consentration in class.
The seat design is to come in 6 different vibrant gender-neutral colours made entirely from recycled factory waste, impact resistant EVA foam. The tough, colourful, comfortable foam means the structure is very lightweight and portable even for small children. The seat is removable and replaceable without the need to replace the entire stool if damaged. They can be assigned to a child to look after and take to different classes and store (e.g. in their locker or bag) to build up a sense of ownership.

The waterproof, bulky frame, back grips and large buttons mean that the device can be used in a blizzard at the top of a mountain just as easily as on the porch, unhindered by large gloves or bad weather. The Impact resistant clear plastic on the lense and the rubber material wrapping the entire design protects the camera from the elements and damage.

The sleep beat speaker set utilises the science of binaoural sound to train your brain to sleep at the correct times. linked to a tracker on your phone the sleep beat set is ideal for those with insomnia. With the simple shape and small size, the speakers will blend into your home allowing you to forget they exist while they work.
Inspiration
The shape and small size of the speakers is heavily influenced by the idea of camoflage, and utilises common, familiar shapes found in in a household in order to blend in. when fitted together they form a oblong pill shape, which pays hommage to how they work as an alternative to traditional medicine
Sleep beat acts as a safe and scientific alternative to sleeping pills, with none of the negative risks such as addiction. The speakers transmit the sound waves the brain produces and assosiates with different stages of tiredness. The brain, over time learns and copies this routene without the aid of the speakers making sure that your body wants sleep when you need it to.

The Nest Clip 1st Gen, is designed as a pickpocket prevention device which creates an extra barrier between the user and thieves. The simple, none electronic product attempts to move away from the preconception that nest products are technological, security aids for the home. The steel frame loops through the users wallet and links to their trouser belt loops. Metal cut resistant wire connects the two parts and allows there to be an extension between the loop and the wallet clamp.
Clip aims to bridge the gap nest currently has by only supplying for home security, connecting it to other market opportunities. The market for this will be mostly targeting tourests and residents in population dense areas, as these are this places in which these kinds of thefts take place most often.
Inspiration
33% of all travel insurance claims are for lost or stolen possessions.
1 out of every 4 tourists will be pickpocketed this year in Barcelona
The form, insired by the age old form of the yale lock, aims to inspire trust through its minial design. The “hooks, lock the Clip together allowing the product to compact down for storage in the users bag when not in use. the spiral loop steel wire can loop through the belt loops fixing the Clip to the user without being easily removed.
