WEMCo ISO 9001 certified! For the past year, WEMCo have been working hard towards gaining ISO 9001 Quality Management certification. With the help of management consultant Peter Lavis; an accredited IRCA Registered Lead Auditor of Quality Management Systems, we’ve finally got there! In August and September, the WEMCo team were audited by two auditors from BSI; an independent assessment body of British standards. Conforming to ISO 9001 represents our commitment to the continuous improvement of our business processes and our customers.

Winter’s Coming......Top Energy Saving Tips With the cold snap suddenly upon us and increasing energy costs taking precedence in the news, the question is can you really afford to turn the heating on?? Follow our top energy saving tips to stop wasting energy and money! 1. Turn down the thermostat. Turning down the room thermostat temperature by 1°C could reduce your heating bills by 10% and save you around £60 per year! 2. Is your water too hot? The water cylinder thermostat should be set at 60°C/140°F. 3. Close your curtains at dusk to stop heat escaping through the windows and check for draughts around windows and doors.

Legionella Control Registered Legionnaires disease is a potentially fatal form of pneumonia caused by the bacterium Legionella pneumophila that can be found in environmental and purpose built water systems. WEMCo are now registered category 1 members of the Legionella Control Association and offer services to support the management of water hygiene to control Legionella in water systems.

4. Use energy saving lightbulbs. Lasting up to 10 times longer than ordinary bulbs, using one can save around £55 over its lifetime. 5. Bleed your radiators. Air bubbles in your radiators prevent your central heating system from conducting efficiently. By bleeding your radiators you will eliminate the air bubbles so your heating system can work to full capacity.

Improving the Environment - what we’re doing To coincide with our Environmental Management system and our efforts to create environmental awareness we are adhering to 8 Golden Rules to help reduce our carbon footprint;

By carrying out routine monitoring, cleaning and disinfection of water systems we control and eliminate the conditions in which the bacterium may grow.

Gas Safety Week WEMCo supported the first ever Gas Safety Week on 12th September which was run by Gas Safe Register. The campaign was launched to raise awareness of gas safety and the importance of taking care of your gas appliances. Badly fitted and poorly serviced gas appliances can cause gas leaks, fires, explosions and carbon monoxide poisoning. Carbon monoxide is a highly poisonous gas. You can’t see it, taste it or smell it, but it can kill quickly with no warning. Make sure your gas appliances have a regular service and an annual gas safety check and ALWAYS use a Gas Safe registered engineer. All WEMCo gas engineers are Gas Safe registered and carry their Gas Safe Register ID card.

We’d like to thank all our customers for their feedback, our current customer satisfaction rate is at 98% but we’re always looking for ways to improve our services. At the start of the year we pledged that for every complete customer feedback form we receive, WEMCo would donate £1 to the Rowcroft Hospice at the end of October. WEMCo matched your kind generosity by making an additional contribution and made a total donation of £60. Thank you for all your continued support! If you’d like to complete a customer feedback form go to www.wemco.co.uk Due to the nature of our clients environments, all of the WEMCo engineers have undergone Enhanced CRB disclosure checks; ensuring that they are eligible to work in those environments.

WEMCo are proud sponsors of Brixham United U12 Football team. The boys play in the Pioneer Youth League with matches on Sundays. We wish them the best of luck for the season!
