Join us if you love to sing or play an instrument. We are looking for guitar players, ukulele, banjo, etc and singers for an afternoon of music including classic country music. No cost. • Pickleball Pickleball is a combination of tennis, ping pong and badminton played on a badminton court with a three foot high net, lightweight paddles and a plastic perforated ball. NOTE: This group does not meet in July or August but will resume in September. • Wii Bowling It involves some gentle exercise, improves strength, balance and coordination – and it’s fun! Drop-in fee: $1 members or $2 non. • Wood Carving Group meets Wednesdays at 1:00 pm to learn and share knowledge. Bring your own carving tools. $3 drop-in fee (for members only) and includes wood. Held once a month on Wednesday mornings from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm at Victoria Park Seniors Centre (see dates below). Kelley Eves, Nurse Specialist – Metabolic Care with the Upper Grand Family Health Team, will check your blood pressure and provide information on how to control your blood pressure. No appointment needed – simply drop-in. Thanks to the Upper Grand Family Health Team for sponsoring this program. Foot Care Clinics It’s important to prevent and treat foot problems. Have your feet assessed by a registered practical nurse. Your appointment will include cutting and filing toenails, reduction of corns and calluses when necessary, moisturizing the skin. Fee: $25. Appointments are necessary and do fill quickly. Topic: “So, my hearing’s not as good as it used to be, now what do I do?” ($5 fee donated to CHS). Pre-register. 3) Hearing Information Clinic – Tuesday, August 13, 9:00am-12:30 pm, when a Hearing Care Counsellor from the Canadian Hearing Society is available to talk to you on a one-to-one basis about any hearing concerns you may have. Call the Seniors Centre to book your free ½ hour appointment prior to the clinic. Manicure Treatment Pamper yourself with a manicure! Includes a soak for the hands, nail trim, nail shaping, cuticle work, a lower arm and hand massage and polish application. A manicure is a very comforting and therapeutic treatment.
