THE GREETER Newsletter of the Florence Welcoming Club— 25th Anniversary Year Now in its 25th year, the Florence Welcoming Club has been introducing newcomers to one another and helping them become involved in the community. If you are new to Florence, we welcome you and hope to get to know you. Our next meeting is our HOLIDAY CRAFT BAZAAR! Don’t miss this one! It is on Tuesday, November 1st at 7:00 PM at the Lutheran Church of the Incarnate Word, 1900 Second Loop Rd.

A Message from the President Hi everyone and welcome to November! Can you believe it already? This month we traditionally take time to stop and think about all the things we should be thankful for. Remember to take time and listen to the birds sing. Stop and look at the beautiful colors the trees are revealing to us. Life is a gift and no day should be wasted. I hope that you find a quiet moment to think of all the things you are thankful for and I hope that includes all of your friends you have made at the Florence Welcoming Club! Please remember your membership dues of $15 for the year were due in October, it is important that you pay your dues by the November Meeting in order to be able to continue to attend the General Meetings as well as participating in the group activities. Many thanks to Cindy Stafford for leading our October General Meeting since I was out of commission. I heard it was very informative and I am so disappointed I had to miss it. I am very much looking forward to our November Meeting/ Holiday Craft Bazaar! It is going to be such a fun event and what a great way to get to know each other a little better. It is going to be a great jumpstart to my Holiday shopping and I hope it will be for you too! Keep in mind that our Attractions Fundraiser Books are still being sold and also would make a great gift or stocking stuffer! Your help is greatly appreciated and remember the funds go to help fund our favors for the Christmas party. Speaking of the Christmas Party, remember it is just around the corner and if you are planning to attend we will need your payment to secure your spot at our November general meeting. It is being held Tuesday, December 6 at 6:00pm at The Peddler Steakhouse on Hoffmeyer Road and the cost is $26 that includes salad bar, bread, entrée with choice of sides and drinks. We will also be having our gift exchange for those who want to participate and bring a gift valued up to $10. Please consider joining us. It is going to be a fabulous night! Don’t forget your new unwrapped toy donation for the Marine Corps Toys for Tots. What a great way to give someone a special Christmas! look forward to seeing you all at the November meeting for a night of shopping fun! ~Carrie

Introducing …

Susan Holladay

Where did you move from and why? We moved from Darlington to Florence to be in a better school district and to be closer to work. I'm a Director at BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina and Jay is a CT Tech at McLeod. Tell us about your Family. My husband is Jay. We have two children. Madelyn is 8 years old and John is 4 years old. What do you enjoy doing? I enjoy doing Thirty-One parties. Thirty-One is a direct sales company. We sell purses, totes, bags and accessories. The name Thirty-One comes from Proverbs 31 which talks about the virtuous woman. Our mission is to celebrate, encourage and reward women. What other activities do you enjoy? I enjoy to scrapbooking. I love to see my kids looking through their baby albums and our family albums. Any advice to share with new members that may help in their transition? Get involved with your new neighborhood and community. Join the PTO, go to church, or volunteer for organizations you believe in. This will help you meet new people. Anything else you would like to share with us? Jay and I also own and operate an inflatable bounce house rental business with another couple here in Florence. It's called 4 Monkeys Inflatable Party Rentals. Jay now works PRN (as needed) at McLeod so that he can do more with the 4 Monkeys business.

Is this your Last Issue? It is if you have not yet renewed your membership! Send your dues ($15) to our PO BOX listed on the last page. Our November 1st meeting is the deadline to be included in the pictorial directory. Have your photo taken at the meeting or send one to Thank You!
