Everglades National Park

The largest subtropical wilderness in the U.S., Everglades National Park is an unparalleled landscape filled with curious flora and fauna! At nearly 1.5-million acres, the park is an important habitat for numerous rare and endangered species including the manatee, American crocodile and Florida panther! Two entrances from Miami: Shark Valley, about 35 miles west of Miami on the Tamiami Trail (US 41), Map I-1, and Homestead, about 50 miles southwest of downtown Miami, Map I-1. Everglades Safari Park

Take an airboat ride through nature’s wildlife! Airboats depart every 20-30 minutes; no reservations required. See alligators, crocodiles and other exotic wildlife. Admission to the park includes an Eco-Adventure Airboat Ride, Alligator Wildlife Nature Show, and access to the observation platform, jungle trail and nature exhibits. flamingo gardens

A 60-acre tropical paradise featuring the Wray Botanical Collection with 3,000 species of rare, exotic, tropical, subtropical and native vegetation. The Everglades Sanctuary houses the largest collection of native Florida wildlife in the state including flamingos, alligators, eagles and panthers, most which are injured and nonreleasable. The Free-Flight Aviary houses more than 45 species of wading birds, and the Bird of Prey Center has one of the largest raptor collections in the U.S.!
