Newsletter #33 School Roll

296 Kia ora Parents, Whanau, and Caregivers, This week we send out a very warm welcome and Haere mai to our new team members at Welcome Bay School.

Journey Kuka and Ashley Priestley We know you will fly in your life and learning at Welcome Bay School

Marae Noho Last week on Tuesday and Wednesday our senior Kapa Haka team held a Noho at Te Whetu Marae. We were given a powhiri to welcome us on to the Marae on Tuesday morning and after a kai for morning tea, Pahu Akuhata shared his knowledge of the Wharenui, including some of the local history and the meaning behind many of the carving and kotukutuku panels. Our tamariki performed twice during their noho, once on Tuesday evening to teachers and Matua BJ who visited with his whanau, and again on Wednesday. Their performances improved during the duration of their stay and they are well on their way to being prepared for the upcoming Ra Whakangahau at Te Puna School. A huge thanks from our tamariki, and school to every member of the support crew who contributed time in raising funds to support the Noho, to those who spent a huge amount of time planning and organising for this noho, and also all of our whanau who supported during the noho, in the kitchen, and looking after our tamariki. Aroha mai whanau!
