Newsletter # 10 School Roll

275 Kia ora Parents, Whanau, and Caregivers, A turn in our summer looks like it has finally come with the first of the colder mornings beginning this week on Monday with a low of 7 degrees aaaaggghhhh! What good timing with daylight savings and it has also been nice arriving at work in the light rather than dark! This time of year can be tricky with clothing at school as it is cold in the morning and very warm during the day. This means we often find clothing left in the playground and without a name in an item of clothing it is very difficult to find its home. Please take the time to name your child’s uniform, especially tops so that we can support your child in bringing home their uniform each day. This will be my final newsletter this term as I am away next week visiting schools to observe how they are managing new technologies such as i-pads to enhance student learning and progress. Mrs Keys will be writing next weeks newsletter so I will be back at school in the new term and wish all of our school learning community a terrific break. Enjoy the last week at Welcome Bay School as part of a great team! Naku noa ra,

Nik House - Principal This week we send out a very warm welcome and Haere mai to our new team members at Welcome Bay School.

Lucas Daum We know you will fly in your life and learning at Welcome Bay School!

WBS Mufti Day When? On Tuesday 16th April (next week) Please bring a gold coin donation, which will be going toward our senior camp in term 2. Thanks from the senior team.

Junior Readers Could all parents please have a look at home for any school junior readers. We are looking carefully at what resources we have with a view to invest in further books to support our Junior children as they learn to read. As a part of this process we need to have all books back at school for a stocktake in the holidays. It is really important that we get all of these books back as the replacement cost can be between $10-16 dollars per book. As you can imagine this figure grows very quickly if we need to purchase 100’s of books. Please return any books that you find to the school office, or a junior teacher.

Time to Return Pool Keys It is the end of our swimming season and our pool will be officially closed at the end of next week. Could every key holder please return their keys to the school office before next Wednesday 17th April. Many thanks. [1]
