SITE INFORMATION Mission Bay Sometimes it is called Mission Creek, the channel is the last historic waterway remaining from vanished Mission Bay. Channel Street can be reached by bridges along Third or Fourth Street, south of Berry. It extends inland to Seventh Street. Right now, Mission Bay is a burgeoning residential and commercial district south of China Basin and AT&T Park. The area has been an intense focus for redevelopment—an effort so successful that a second phase is now well under way.  The site next to San Francisco’s Municipal Transit line Muni Metro system, Caltrain and BART. It provides a vital link between San Francisco and the rest of the city. It also weaves public spaces, diverse uses, and memorable context into a distinctive pattern of place. Transform new cities, wate fronts, city centers, educational and corporate campuses urban districts into vibrant, sustainable communities.

CONCEPT Rebirth Since my project site has been an intense focus for redevelopment, it involves the transformation into a vibrant, high-density, transit– oriented community. Mission Bay creates a hub for innovation and economic growth for the city, region and state. My concep is rebirth that starts a new life in a different form. Reirth presents the natural cycles and floow the natural patterns and the generation of living beings. I got inspirations from natural plants, mountains. Those images show that how they are turning to be more pretty after climate and geographic factors. The goal of the concept is to courage my customers go to seek out local products that reflect the natural ingredients and feel the celebrate life.

Design Process 1 - Light & View

Design Process 2 - Circulation

FLOOR PLAN Loop in Form My design process 1 sktech shows that the east side provides the best daylight and good view, so it is good to put Cafe and restaurant seating around the window. Consider the several entrances, it is designed to keep circulation in the center and naturally flows to the entire space. Besides, it is designed to have two social activity spaces in each side to balance the space. At the same time, both of them have the cashier check at the each entrance to enhance the security.

LIGHTING Overall to Details The original façade was maintained to filter in daylight which gives daylight to hallways. There are lounge chairs and tables that set close to facade. It gives the best way to engage the user to read and relax and reduces the indoor energy and power use. It is designed to have fixtures, like pendant, make a strong visual statement, and then the rest of the lighting—whether recessed or accent lighting—work around the perimeter of the room to highlight features and objects.

17

FINISH PLAN Rustic For the market, the floors will need to withstand foot traffic, furniture, rolling equipment, everyday spills, drops and accidents. It is designed to have white tiles as kitchen flooring. At the same time, it gives opprotunities to easy to clean and maintain. Besides, having rustic wood finishes which is pretty netura to emphasis the conceptual idea.

Market Prepared Majoy market area has special products that are fresh flowers and local food in the right front of the entrance which gives a nice first expression to customers. It is designed to have warm pendant light which focus on the special products directly. Prepared food and seafood also are placed close to entrance which reduce the foot print for this highest visited area. It is designed to have grab & go area because time-crunched, lunch-rush consumers are a fact of life on the commercial side. Place beverage coolers in places where they won’t disrupt traffic flow.

CONCEPT Artcraft Lines and Forms The goal is to transform a flat sheet square of paper into a finished sculpture through folding and sculpting techniques. I chose this concept is because I need to serve three individual family groups for this project, the small number of basic origami folds which are from different group can be combined in a variety of ways to make intricate designs. Paper-folding is a wonderful hobby, and a wonderful group activity and for kids it has so many benefits socially and for the developing mind.

The ground space is utilized the concept of origami as the major driven force throughout the design. The ground space is divided in different zones. Each zone is formed by an origami feature, which is constructed by colors and different materials, such as linen fabrics organic geometric tiles. It will be designed with organic, colors and simple forms but shows clear lines and scale.

It is designed to reinterpret the traditional appearance of wooden architecture, beam roof under the concept of “folding” referred to “ORIGAMI”. The gesture of “ORIGAMI” brings the gaps and openings to the space underneath, generates the light, flow lines and the functions.

It has paved the way for creative activities of varied scale, ranging from product to furniture, leveraged origami as an inspiration base to develop a furniture and accessories collection. From the living room TV platform, I provide sense of craft and sense of urbanism were merged to create highly sophisticated cultural artifacts. 45

Color Maria expressed interest in having small garden, so the Oliver green colour of the fabric is chosen to remind the vegetation on this plot of house. This colour allows a good integration in the immediate environment creating a harmony with the outdoor plant arrangements. Also, Maria’s bedroom close to work place which allow her to walk in and out easily. Simona is a good student and she likes have study with her classmates, so her bedroom is provided enough space for study and overnight guests. Also she is sensitive to chemicals, so her bedroom is designed by natural non-toxic materials. For Frank, his bathroom is design by ADA compliant and provided accessibility. He has difficulty differentiating between colors with similar values, so his bedroom and bethroom are designed by different flooring.

SITE INFORMATION Mission Bay The reason why chose this site because it encourages compact development, alternative transportation, and connection with neighborhood amenities, such as restaurants and parks. This is a site for bicycle facilities. Urban density can preserve natural lands while reducing vehicular air pollution and allowing more use of public Transportation. Helping climate change and decrease the air pollution.

55

56

CONCEPT Fluidity My concept is fluidity which means the ability of a substance to flow. Thinking about ocean movement and energetic activities, I would like to design a space which my clients start a new life in this community and also bring visible energy into the space. Its a cure and rehab for those seniors are familiarized with the facility, activities and are more likely to continue facilities’ use even after finishing physical therapy. It really encourages them to be proud of their livings and their every daily life.
