Home brew competition Who can brew the best beer? The competition is on. Railway City Brewing Company is presenting the “Sum-
mer’s Best Brew” competition. The idea for the competition was to honour home brewers and the excellent beers they make from around the area. The competition started on June 2 and winners will be announced the following week. The judging panel consisted of respected and qualified beer judges, brewers and other industry professionals. “It usually takes a year to put on a com-
petition like this one. We did it in two months,” Al Goulding, one of the founding partners of Railway City, said. Cash awards will be given to the top three winners. The first place winner will be honoured with the year’s summer seasonal beer which will be sold at the brewery, and also receive the opportunity to brew a full batch of their winning beer at Railway City Brewing Company.
On June 1, Matt Portiss staff at Railway City Brewery Company waits patiently for the taste test to begin.
