Wimmera Health Care Group has appointed Royal Melbourne Hospital physician Dr Peter Greenberg to its board of management. Board chairwoman Marie Aitken said Dr Greenberg brought a wealth of medical experience to the board. Along with being a physician, Dr Greenberg has years of teaching and consulting experience “We are thrilled to have Dr Greenberg on our board,” Ms Aitken said. “He is passionate about healthcare and has a strong connection to the region. “It is vital for a board of management to have members with a range of skillsets, so this appointment is wonderful for the future of the organisation and its governance.”
Dr Greenberg said these fond memories prompted him to join the board. “I have vivid and wonderful memories of those times,” he said. “I wanted to join the Wimmera Health Care Group Board of Management because I considered the experience and knowledge I’d gained working and teaching as a consultant physician in general medicine would be beneficial to the organisation. “Assisting to evaluate and further improve the quality of health care might add something worthwhile to health care in the Wimmera, as well as an opportunity for me to contribute something in return to the region, where I’d had such a happy childhood.”

People can see the result in a series of presentations on June 10 and 11. “The experienced artistic team will support and guide the participants to set free their imagination about what exciting part of the unique thingamabob they could build,” Altheimer said. “Contraptions will be created from an improbable assortment of objects, collected in the Wimmera, including industrial parts, agriculture machinery and common household items. “Gravity, collisions and chemistry will be used to cre-

ate spectacular chain reactions, self-destructing ‘performances’ of physical interactions and precisely crafted chaos.” Participating communities will include CALD English language group, through the Centre for Participation Nexus; and Haven and Dimboola primary school year five and six students, with support from Natimuk Men’s Shed members. “We are still looking out for people who are interested in being part of the project and want to build a little part of the chain reaction,” Altheimer said. “We are also looking for all kinds of objects that could be part of a chain reaction or have some local relevance.” People can call project manager Sarah Natali on 0468 387 121 for information about becoming involved in or donating items for the project.

She describes Move On as part moving sculpture, part storytelling and part human-activated contraption. “It is part of the Art is... a Footprint festival and will be a mix of an entertaining, quirky and Horsham-impregnated chain-reaction installation and moments of irreverent performance,” she said. A team of professional artists and makers, including Mandy Field, Sam Deal and Wimmera artists Dave Jones and Nichola Clarke, will lead the workshops. “They will be working with
diverse community groups to build – independently – elements of a big, eccentric Rube Goldberg machine,” Altheimer said. “Joining their built structures into one long sequence, the project will culminate into one enormous, mechanical chain-reaction installation.”
