THE CEREMONY We kept our ceremony location a complete surprise! We told our guests to meet us at 2:00 PM for pictures. When the open air Hummers arrived everyone was so surprised. Greg and I left in a jeep to get up to the mountain ceremony site a few minutes earlier than our guests. This was such a magical ride through the amazing fall colors. We felt so connected and happy to be able to spend 1:1 time before everyone else arrived. We were truly doing it our way. When the guests arrived, they walked up into the meadow to join Greg and I. We found a large rock to stand by and everyone gathered close. Greg and I both wrote our own vows and performed our own ceremony. We had brought champagne to toast after and loved how our family and friends just went with the spontaneous nature of our wedding.
ADVICE Focus on the wedding being an extension of who you uniquely are. Do it your way! Be authentic!
Being spontaneous allows one to be in the moment and not be pressed with expectations. I call it ‘the perfect mindset’ for a wedding! Have a vision and then allow what is supposed to happen; happen.
