SPARK SPARK R R&D & D || ABOUT About US Us

BLAZE & BURNER SPECIFICATIONS

THE BLAZE The most popular splitboard binding on the market gets a face lift for the 2012/2013 season. The Blaze was designed for the freestyle rider and all-around adventurer looking for lightweight touring deep into the backcountry. • Baseplate is aggressively CNC machined from a single piece of aluminum incorporating cutouts for traction, snowshed, and weight savings. • Integrated toe strap attachment reduces weight and part count. • Pre-curved ankle and toe straps are minimal and lightweight yet comfortable and durable. • Plastics and buckles are low profile and bomber. • Custom splitboard specific highback is soft tortionally for mobility and stiff fore-aft for heelside shreds with a wide range of forward lean (-5 to +25) for striding on the flats to carving ice. Lateral slots in highback accommodate booster strap for additional support and comfort.

If you’ve ever toured in the backcountry, you’ve slipped and fallen on the skin track and your buddies have enjoyed heckling you. Mr. Chomps is your new best friend – its favorite meal is a steep and icy skin track. Drop them in under your touring pin and enjoy 4-wheel drive for your splitboard. Get on the other side of the heckling. • New “chompier chomps” for the 2012/2013 season feature serrated teeth, but don’t worry, this year they’re coming with a stab-proof bag for carrying in your pack. • New cutouts reduce weight by 11% • Riser mounted on crampon keeps same depth of teeth in snow when using heel lifts = traction and security. • Can use in fixed or free mode depending on the terrain and snow surface. • Compatible with all Spark R&D binding models and work seamlessly with the LT Pin System • Compatible with dual height climbing wires

Tour with confidence, even backwards, knowing your skins are securely in place. Asymmetric clip designed specifically for splitboards is easy to attach and remove and keeps skin tensioned parallel to length. Patent pending. • Compatible with all skin models. • 10cm of tool-free length adjustment to fit your whole quiver. • Kit includes stretchers, clips, rivets, and webbing extenders for those of you with crazy long boards (or crazy short skins!) as well as complete installation instructions. • Installation requires only a hammer and scissors.

TOURING POLES SPECIFICATIONS

SPARK TOURING POLES A new addition for this upcoming season, Spark R&D will be offering two styles of touring pole. Our three-piece adjustable pole features easy to use powerlock clamps, powder baskets and extended foam grips for warmth and variable grip position. Our four-piece tent pole collapses to a short 34 cm (13.4) to easily fit in your backpack. Fixed length makes for fast deployment, eliminates accidental short pole/long pole syndrome. Also comes with powder baskets and extended foam grips for warmth and variable grip position.

BOOSTER STRAPS SPECIFICATIONS

BOOSTER STRAP The strappy strap fits through slots in the Blaze and Burner highbacks to provide increased ankle support on icy skin tracks. Works great in combination with Mr. Chomps.
