CAPACITOR BANKS – ENERSUL ARTECHE, through its Energy Quality Unit in Brazil, in consortium with the companies ATOMUS, LS Engenharia and DAMP Montagens Eletromecânicas, energized two banks of 30 MVAR capacitors with 138 kV of power this past Wednesday, January 28, in ENERSUL’s Imbirussú substation near the city of Campo Grande, in the Brazilian state of Mato Grosso do Sul. Besides supplying capacitor banks and yard equipment, the job also included construction work to adapt the substation, and the development of communication and control systems. The partnership with consortium members was a key factor that allowed activation of the banks almost
originally projected. This was very important to the client, who was subject to fines imposed by the ONS
Sistema Elétrico). Notably, supplying these capacitor banks was a major project for Arteche EDC and places it among Brazil’s leading providers of Energy Quality solutions.
