TIMEFORM VIEW Respectable third of 11 in handicap (2/1) at Carlisle (5.8f, good) 14 days ago. Record TFRHHHHH BHA57 stands at 0-14, but he has to be taken seriously nonetheless.

PLAY SMARTER

This may well be the day when SHACKABOOAH gets his head in front. There were excuses at Carlisle last time and he has at least as good a chance as any of his rivals judged on his C&D second to Mr Wagyu earlier this month. Quanah’s latest effort at Ripon was solid and he is next on the shortlist, while Last Date and Round The Island are others to consider.

TROPICAL CYCLONE is bred to be better than a mark of 65 and looks sure to be well suited by this longer trip on handicap debut, so she’s the one to beat, with The Vegas Raider seemingly the main threat. Chipping Away is going the right way and also warrants consideration in an interesting 3-y-o handicap.

The Fourteenth Running of The Wayne Conway Memorial Handicap Stakes

Wayne was taken away from us far too soon but his legacy remains, a husband and father loved and admired by family, friends and colleagues alike. He showed great strength in the face of a terrible illness when previously he had been so fit and well. Family and friends meet once a year here at Pontefract to celebrate his life at a place he loved to visit.
