Make sure other members of your group have read and understood these guidelines

Welcome to all our Annual Badgeholders on a fantastic evening of racing.
This evening, we welcome Busted to the racecourse. They have vocalised some real classics over the years from “Year 3000” to “Crashed The Wedding” and “Thunderbirds Are Go”. I’m sure many of you will be dancing to their excellent melodies after racing.
Thunderbirds really are go for our racing before the musical ensemble, with six exhilarating races for your enjoyment. The usual paraphernalia of members facilities is available for your pleasure, from reserved seating, designated bar and of course panoramic viewing boxes.
The July Cup last week, was something of a triumph, with Mill Stream, placed in last years Sprint Cup, victorious. It will be delightful to see him in our flagship flat contest in September, which is only 7 weeks away A curtain raiser to the summer, it is always a wonderful race to enjoy.
Before the Sprint Cup, I am delighted that Annual Badgeholders will have an opportunity to walk the racecourse in 13 days time, and in three weeks our lady members will no doubt look resplendent on Ladies Day.
I wish you an enjoyable and successful evenings racing and try not to dance too much!

PLAY SMARTER
BEAUTIFUL CROWN has made a cracking start for this yard, and given he was set an impossible task at Sandown just over a fortnight ago, he’s fancied to regain the winning thread and take his record to 3-4 this year at the expense of Hot Team, who is as consistent as they come for horses at this sort of level. Fiftyshadesaresdev and Savanna King can do battle for minor honours.

VETS SCREEN POLICY
We have agreed with our vets that the screen should be erected, whenever a horse requires veterinary treatment on the course. This does not reflect the severity of an injury, but does help to provide a calm environment, in which the vet is better able to treat the horse.
Please do not assume the worst if you see screens erected around a fallen horse.

RACEHORSE & JOCKEY WELFARE
The welfare of the sport’s equine and human participants is paramount to British Horseracing. All racehorses competing in Britain are stabled at the premises of trainers who are licensed by The British Horseracing Authority The standards demanded by The BHA of licensed racehorse trainers far exceed those prescribed by animal welfare legislation The British Horseracing Authority similarly licenses every racecourse, setting high standards for the racing surface and all parts of the course used by competitors, both human and equine. BHA Officials ensure that racecourses delivers these standards In addition Haydock Park Racecourse employs a minimum of three veterinary surgeons, whose sole responsibility it is to provide care to the horses throughout their time at the racecourse In the event of an incident on the racecourse, any horse affected will receive immediate treatment from the racecourse’s veterinary team. Qualified paramedics and doctors are also on hand in the case of any incident involving a jockey If any incident occurs during a race it is routine practice for screens to be erected around the horse or jockey receiving treatment. This is to allow the veterinary or medical personnel to make a safe and accurate diagnosis and so that they may perform any treatment in a private and calm environment. If necessary, horses and riders will be transported from the course to receive further treatment at the nearest equine hospital or Accident & Emergency hospital
