Good afternoon and welcome to our Racing TV Raceday, the first of two great days of racing here at Hamilton Park, followed tomorrow by our G4 Claims Glasgow Stakes Racenight where £125,000 of prize money will be up for grabs.
Our thanks to Racing TV and the European Breeders Fund for their much-appreciated sponsorship of today’s races. We are proud to say that every pound given in sponsorship goes straight to our prize money, which has helped us offer prize money of £1.58M this year
Today is Racing TV’s annual Club Day at Hamilton Park where we invite local subscribers as well as Pubs and Clubs to come along and enjoy a day’s racing. Racing TV is our dedicated racing channel and is available online and on Sky channel 424. It is owned by the racecourses, and Racing TV play a big part in helping us deliver each and every raceday to screens across the UK and beyond, and most importantly returning profits back into racing for the good of the sport If you’ve not tried it yet, then why not download Racing TV’s free mobile app for a taste of their service featuring all of today’s races with tips from Timeform.
On the track today we’re sure to see some excellent racing across the card. The 3.55pm feature race, the Class 4 Welcome to Racing TV Club Members Handicap, looks like a competitive contest with two of the seven declared runners holding previous wins here. Trainer Dianne Sayer is double-handed in the race with Savrola and Redarna, who won over course and distance back in 2020. Two-time Hamilton Park winner Pisanello is at the top of the weights for Owners the Trendy Ladies, whilst the George Boughey-trained Moonspirit comes into this contest having won at Beverley on her last outing earlier this month.
It’s back-to-back racing for us here with tomorrow’s G4 Claims Glasgow Stakes Racenight where as well as the fantastic racing action, we’ll be enjoying some of Oasis’s greatest hits from one of the UK’s leading tribute bands, Definitely Oasis. Tomorrow evening also features our highest-grade race of the season, the British Stallion Studs EBF Glasgow Listed Stakes which has been targeted by some of Britain’s leading trainers. Caviar Heights is at the top of the weights for Karl Burke in the familiar colours of Sheikh Mohammed Obaid Al Maktoum, who has won this race on two previous occasions with the great Postponed and Defoe, both of whom went on to greater successes at Group level. Legendary Newmarket Trainer John Gosden is a two-time winner of the Glasgow Stakes when it was staged at York, prior to it moving to Hamilton Park in 2006. John and his son Thady have a very rare entry here tomorrow and will no doubt be looking to add to that tally with God’s Window. With runners from the yards of Ralph Beckett, Andrew Balding and Sir Mark Prescott making up the field, it is set to be another high-quality renewal.
If you’d like to come along and join us tomorrow, simply bring along your ticket or receipt from today and we’ll give you admission for only £15. Gates open at 3.30pm with the first race at 5.30pm, so I do hope to see some of you back with us again.
Have a great afternoon and be lucky!
Kind regards,
ASHLEY MOON, RACECOURSE MANAGING DIRECTOR

about FIVE FURLONGS (5f
RACE DESCRIPTION
A nursery is a handicap that is restricted to two-year-olds only In order to be allowed to take part, entrants must have already run in three maiden or novice races, or have won two races, which then qualifies them for an official handicap rating based on what they have achieved so far. Quite simply, the higher their rating, the bigger the weight they have to carry. This particular five furlongs race is for horses which have been rated from 0 to 76.
RACE STATISTICS
Leading course trainer (19-24): D O’Meara (22 wins from 144 runners, 15%) runs LADY LUZON
Trainer-in-form (last 14 days): K R Burke (10 wins from 56 runners, 18%) runs TRIPLE CHARGED
Longest Traveller: LADY LUZON trained by D O’Meara, Upper Helmsley, 208 miles.
BETTING FORECAST: 13-8 J Street (GB), 4-1 Kiss Me My Love (IRE), Lady Luzon (IRE), 13-2 Triple Charged (IRE), 7-1 Station X (GB)
RACE SUMMARY: A tricky opener to solve despite the small field but LADY LUZON has improved with each start to date so David O’Meara’s filly gets the nod to make a winning handicap debut at the expense of J Street, who opened her account in a Catterick maiden recently and must carry a penalty on nursery bow. Kiss Me My Love found the Queen Mary too competitive last month, so she can fill out third.

about SIX FURLONGS (6f abt 6yds) (1200m)
2.50pm
This is a six furlongs handicap race for four-year-olds and upwards which have been rated from 46 to 55. In a handicap the weight that each of the runners carries is determined by their official handicap rating which is based on their level of form shown so far. The aim is to ensure competitive racing by asking the higher rated horses to carry more weight than a lower rated rival. As a guide, horses rated 40 tend to be at the lower end of the scale whilst the very best performers would be rated as high as 130.

RACE SUMMARY: REDSHORE CITY has made a promising start with Bernard Llewellyn and can resume winning ways now back up in trip having done all his best work at the finish when fourth over 5f at Ffos Las last week. ONE MILE about 68 YARDS (8f abt 68yds) (1600m)
3.25pm
RACE DESCRIPTION
This contest is a Novice Stakes and is set to be run over a distance of one mile and 68 yards. There are a variety of reasons why the three-year-olds in this race are still light on experience Stoutly bred horses are unlikely to be seen at their best over the shorter distances of their juvenile season whilst a setback or injury can curtail even the most precociously bred horse’s two-year-old career
Leading course trainer (19-24): I Jardine (33 wins from 282 runners, 12%) runs LEVECHE
Trainer-in-form (last 14 days): K R Burke (10 wins from 56 runners, 18%) runs THUNDER RUN
Longest Traveller: TERRE DE VEGA trained by W Haggas, Newmarket, 360 miles.
BETTING FORECAST: 10-11 Thunder Run (IRE), 2-1 Terre de Vega (GB), 10-1 Celestial Wave (IRE), 16-1 Barefoot Warrior (IRE), 80-1 Mix de Gris (FR), 100-1 Leveche (IRE), Pennymuir (IRE), 200-1 Bolton (GB), Royal Duke (GB) RACE SUMMARY: It’s highly likely this will develop into a straight fight between previous winners THUNDER RUN and Terre de Vega. It’ll be interesting to see how strong the market vibes are behind the latter on his first outing for William Haggas after coming over from France but Karl Burke’s representative looked potentially very useful when drawing well clear at Thirsk a couple of weeks ago and is preferred.

ONE MILE about 68 YARDS (8f abt 68yds) (1600m) 3.55pm
This is a one mile and 68 yards handicap race for four-year-olds and upwards which have been rated from 66 to 85. To qualify for a handicap rating horses must have run at least three times in a Flat race in Britain, or have run in no more than two Flat races run in Britain and won at least one of them. This rating then dictates the weight to be carried in a handicap In simple terms a horse rated 85 in this particular race would be
to carry 5lb more than a rival rated 80.
Leading course trainer (19-24): D O’Meara (22 wins from 144 runners, 15%) runs PISANELLO

about FIVE FURLONGS (5f abt 7yds) (1000m) 4.25pm
This is a five furlongs handicap race for three-year-olds and upwards which have been rated from 46 to 60. Once a horse has qualified for a handicap rating this is regularly reassessed. A below-par effort could result in a reduced rating whilst a strong performance could see the rating increased. Occasionally, horses are entered to race before their handicap rating has been reviewed and so to avoid recent winners being un-penalised they are allotted a mandatory penalty – usually 6lb
Leading course trainer (19-24): J Goldie (43 wins from 380 runners, 11%) runs CUBAN ROCK
Trainer-in-form (last 14 days): K Ryan (8 wins from 40 runners, 20%) runs MISSTERIOUS

RACE SUMMARY: Course specialist GISELLES IZZY can follow up from last week’s 6f win here, her rider’s claim almost completely offsetting the 5lb penalty she’s been handed for that win. Missterious showed improved form with headgear applied when runner-up over C&D earlier in the month and she’s a danger once again, with Cuban Rock taken to round out the placings.

This is often described as ‘running from out of the handicap’ and is considered a
