Three Friday Nights Welcome to the start of our August Bank Holiday racing weekend presented by NOW, where Three Friday Nights returns for one unforgettable takeover with Carl Cox taking centre stage. This evening’s programme features six races, starting with The Tote Apprentice Handicap Stakes, a race for sprinters over six furlongs, commencing at 4.53 pm. Two feature races follow with the valuable Chichester Observer Handicap Stakes, run over two miles, and the Fillies’ Handicap Stakes contested over a mile. After the racing, dance music pioneer and ‘King of Ibiza’, Carl Cox, will take to the decks as the parade ring is transformed into a laser-lit dancefloor that will light up the night sky. A global phenomenon, and one of the most in-demand DJs in the world, his life’s mission is to bring people the good times. His high energy and enthusiasm will make for a fabulous party atmosphere on the Downs. We are grateful to this evening’s sponsors, NOW, Tote, European Breeders’ Fund, and Chichester Observer. We will be welcoming Tote back tomorrow as a sponsor of the day’s entire race programme. I wish you an enjoyable evening and hope that you will be able to join us again over the weekend with family entertainment and fantastic racing to enjoy.

2020:MEETING ABANDONED A tricky 6f sprint kicks off proceedings here where Desert Land gets the nod in first-time blinkers. He’s back down to his last winning mark and a return to this trip could see him back to his best. A strong gallop is key to this one’s chances and hopefully Epsom Faithful and Granary Queen will provide that. Follow me on twitter @hookthevalue. DESERT LAND

Just Hubert has a good record here and is the obvious choice, but I’m taking a chance on Be My Sea. He’s been in great form recently and comes here in search of the hat-trick after winning at Carlisle. The runner-up that day won next time out, so the form looks decent, and he’ll love every inch of the 2m round here. An each-way bet and a reverse Exacta looks the play. JUST HERBERT

STEWARDS NOTED: FOR LOVE OF LOUISE:Following its run on 14/7/2021 it was reported that the horse hung right handed.

Country Pyle is a half-sister to Group 1 winner Pyledriver, there was plenty to like about this filly’s debut at Newbury. One of only two making their debut, she was travelling as well as the winner 3f out but got a bit short of room and had to concede first run. It’s likely she’ll improve plenty for that experience and looks like an exciting prospect. COUNTRY PYLE

I’m going to forgive Lola Showgirl’s run at Haydock last time on ground that was probably too soft. She’d done nothing wrong all season before that, winning a big handicap at York and then winning at Royal Ascot. With only nine starts to her name, she’s still unexposed off a mark of 86 and, if she can get on the front end here, she might not be for stopping. Follow me on twitter @hookthevalue. STEWARDS NOTED: ATTY’S EDGE:Following its run on 23/8/2021 it was reported that the horse lost a shoe.

Glamorous Force should be suited by the sharp sprint track here. He was just denied at Bath last time, bouncing out early and setting the fractions before just getting collared close to home. He didn’t go down without a fight that day and on this track they might not be able to catch him. Attys Edge looks the play for the Exacta. Follow me on twitter @hookthevalue. GLAMOROUS FORCE
