LAST YEAR’S CHESHIRE OAKS
to make up a lot of ground but managed to make her challenge inside the final furlong, looking to sweep past as she had done last time out. Thoughts Of June was ready for her this time however, holding off the late pressure gamely to secure her first career victory. Rounding out the podium spots was the Andrew Balding trained Typewriter who was hampered around two furlongs out and despite a late charge, was unable to catch the leading pair.
The daughter of Galileo has been unable to build on this success however, only managing ninth in the Oaks last year and hasn’t been seen since. Above The Curve however, has since found great success in the Group 1 St Mark’s Basilica Coolmore Prix Saint-Alary at Longchamp and the Group 2 Moyglare “Jewels” Blandford Stakes at the Curragh in 2022, both with former rival Ryan Moore onboard.
