VL AESTHETICS

LADIES NIGHT MONDAY 1 AUGUST 2022 Official Programme £3.00

THE JOCKEY CLUB WELCOMES YOU

Good Afternoon and Welcome to Carlisle Racecourse. Thank you for joining us on what is set to be a fantastic evening. I am delighted to have such a wonderful crowd for our Ladies Night, a jewel in the crown of the Carlisle social calendar and the only day of racing in the UK to host all female jockeys! It is great to see this fixture supported so well again by our Owners and Trainers with a bumper number of 88 declarations across 8 races. I am most grateful to VL Aesthetics who have sponsored this fixture once again. They are a cutting edge, Carlisle based company who provide numerous beauty treatments and consultations for everyone. There are some excellent prizes on offer for our Style Awards Competition so to be in with a chance of winning please head to the flower wall next to the William Hill Betting Shop to enter. The awards are open from 3.00pm and close at 6.45pm with the presentation taking place in the Winners Enclosure at 7:25pm. After the excitement of the racing we hope that you will stay to dance the night away with Martin Kemp who is providing an exclusive live DJ set from around 9pm. Finally, I am pleased to introduce Helen Willis our new General Manager. She has been involved in horses and racing all her life and this is her first race day having taken over from Molly Dingwall just 3 weeks ago. Molly has now moved on to be the General Manager at Haydock Park, I am sure you will join me in wishing both Molly and Helen every success in their new posts.

Helen Willis

I hope you all have a great evening and I look forward to welcoming you back to Carlisle Racecourse soon. With best wishes, Penelope Mounsey-Heysham Carlisle Racecourse Chairman T: 0344 579 3002 E: info.carlisle@thejockeyclub.co.uk W: thejockeyclub.co.uk/carlisle

INNSE GALL went close in a hot Cumberland Plate over C&D in June and tops the shortlist down in grade back at this track. Barenboim ran well on his first go on the level for his yard under Fern O’Brien at Newbury and is respected. Francisco Bay needs to cut out the slow starts and has a race in him near to hand if he can judged on his Hamilton effort.

A few with chances but course-winner WHERE’S JEFF signalled he’s ready to go in again when runner-up at Beverley so gets the nod with that form working out very well. Poet’s Dawn is a long time without a win but still feared most after an encouraing Pontefract third last week. Helm Rock, Limited Edition and Hostelry all need shortlisting too.
