FISHER‘N’CHIPS St.Ives are our visitors today, earlier in the season at The Saltings they inflicted a 1 -0 defeat on us, scoring their winner just before full time. This afternoon we hope to gain revenge with all three points. Apart from some sloppy moments which have cost us dearly, generally we have improved, and I feel the team can now give anyone a competitive game. We welcome back to the fold T J Wilson who after a brief spell out of the game has decided to resume playing with us, he is sure to improve our squad. This afternoon I would like to pay tribute to our veteran Nigel Brabyn, in a week when everyone has been singing the praises of Man United’s Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs we have our own legend Nigel who has played in every position for us ( two weeks ago in goal ) without hesitation the most inspirational clubman I have known. matchreports 18th February 2012 Perranwell 5 -2 Mullion All 7 goals came in the second half as Perranwell came from 2 goals behind to take a well earned 3 points. The first half saw both sides coming close but neither side finding enough luck to go a goal ahead. The second half was full of action.. Mullion broke the deadlock within the first 10 minutes thanks to two goals from Sean Haskell-Mills .The Perranwell side were left shocked but not yet defeated. Martin Day started the comeback with a fine header to the back post and the game was back on. Substitute Gavin Boom came on midway in the second half and managed to grab the equalizing goal. 2-2 . With 15 minutes to go, a long ball was played over the top to Matt Rose, who stayed calm under pressure to slot the ball neatly under the rushing goalkeeper. 3-2. But Perranwell weren’t finish there, Andrew Cooper finished away a penalty to make it 4-2 and then Samuel Phillips ended the rout with a fine shot into the bottom corner. A great comeback and a fully deserved 3 points. (perranwellfc.com) 25th February 2011 Wendron 3 - 1 Perranwell Perranwell looked to build on their previous victory from last Saturday but were left feeling worse for wears as they faced a strong well drilled Wendron Side. All goals came in the first half, with Wendron going 2 nil up in the first 30 minutes thanks to 2 goals from Rob Dunn. Both goals came from a result of simple errors and lapses which ultimately proved costly. However, Liam Paddock gave 'the well' hope with a stunning right foot shot from the edge of the area. The hope was short lived and 5 minutes later Matt Roberts silenced the away supporters with a goal poked home from penalty box scramble. 3-1 Wendron were certainly unlucky not to go further ahead, as they had plenty of chances to kill the game off , but returning goalkeeper Harry pulled off some great saves to keep the score at bay. The second half saw Cooper being replaced by Timmy with 'the well' reverting to a 4-3-3. The change was a positive one and Perranwell Dominated and did everything they could, but find the back of the net. Matt Rose and Samuel Phillips both having good opportunities to draw a goal back, but unfortunately it wasn't to be. A well deserved victory for a strong Wendron side. Perranwell can be pleased with their second half battle but now find themselves in the wrong half of the table. (perranwellfc.com)

Theawayteam Name: St Ives Town

Ground: The Saltings

Nickname: The Saints Colours:

St Ives are having a good season so far and have definitely improved on the past couple of seasons, We have already gained more points this season than what we had by the end of last season. St ives have been extremely strong at home having lost only twice and also producing some good results such as beating Penryn and drawing with Ilogan and Falmouth Town. Away form has not been so good and is something St Ives needs to improve if they want to keep in touch with the Top 5. All in all if St Ives can carry on performing like they have to the end of the season and push in to the top 5 then I’m sure it would be seen as a successful season.
