YOUR VENUE

The Royal Spa Centre & Town Hall are owned and operated exclusively by Warwick District Council, for the benefit of residents of the District and visitors to the area. In 2011 major refurbishment work totally transformed the foyers and seating of the Royal Spa Centre, making it a far more enjoyable and comfortable venue to visit. Changes were also made to our programme of performances, attracting a diverse range of entertainment to the venue. In August 2012 the Royal Spa Centre & Town Hall had a change of management and we are currently working hard to implement many initiatives that will place our customers firmly at the core of what we do and greatly improve our levels of service. To better inform this process we would like to know what you currently think of the Royal Spa Centre & Town Hall. A short questionnaire is available online on our website or from our Box Office. Please tell us why you like us and how we might improve.

WHAT WE BELIEVE IN

The Royal Spa Centre & Town Hall operate for the benefit of our customers and audiences. We are dedicated to presenting the best available theatre and entertainment to audiences in central Warwickshire and the wider region. As household budgets become tighter, we recognise that our customers’ expectations are now higher than ever. We are doing everything we can to ensure that we continue to offer excellent value for money and provide a fantastic night out in Leamington Spa! We will continue to present a high quality programme of entertainment and link with our partners in the local community to make our work as diverse and accessible as possible.

Funding. As with most ‘receiving theatres’, a large proportion of the productions at the Royal Spa Centre & Town Hall are brought to us by external companies. These companies take the majority share of the Box Office income, we receive a relatively small amount of the ticket price that you pay. We wish to offer our customers the best possible service, but we must also cover the direct costs involved in providing it. We strive to keep ticket prices as low as possible and give our customers transparent choices rather than making these charges mandatory by including them in the ticket price or compulsory, sweeping booking fees.

The Royal Spa Centre & Town Hall trades as part of Warwick District Council and its operation is supplemented by public finances. We receive no additional funding and we are a non-profit making organisation. The Royal Spa Centre could not possibly cover its operating costs without this support. As a public body, Warwick District Council is unable to ‘absorb’ any costs associated with presenting performances. The quality of the performances we present relies heavily on what we can earn at the box office and in programme sales, merchandise, ice creams, and refreshments etc. Any income we make must offset any cost to the Council, and the people of the District.
