This year has been an amazing one for Delta Sigma Phi! We successfully initiated 26 pledges in the fall and are currently taking eleven men through the pledge process this spring! The chapter is continuing to grow and prosper with constant support from our attentive and involved brotherhood. Our

Chapter Involvement Our brothers are involved in a number of different organizations on campus. Here is a highlight of our involvement: !

Majority of the brotherhood participate in UGA Heroes and UGA Miracle. Several brothers created their own philanthropy to combat Mitochondrial Disease called: Dawgs for Mito. Intramural soccer, flag football and softball 5 members of the UGA club lacrosse team 1 member of the UGA

Accidentals a cappella group 2 senators in Student Government 3 members of the Tate Society Complete involvement from every Pan-Hellenic Sorority on campus in Miss Sorority Row, raising a total of $8,500 for the Red Cross! McKinley Gropp from Alpha Chi Omega was crowned.

Academics • Cumulative chapter GPA of 3.26 • Ranked 9th out of 26 fraternities in GPA • Current spring pledge class (Chi) has a GPA of 3.6 • Mandatory study hours for pledges as well as brothers whose GPAs drop below a 2.5 • 12 members of the UGA Honors program

House News Under the leadership of Tyler Williams, the ACB has refinanced our mortgage and paid our 10-yr balloon payment. After years of saving we now have money available to reinvest in the maintenance of our home. Over $100,000 will be spent in the coming months to refurbish the exterior and replace leaking pipes in the landing bathroom. With the addition of the Mother’s Club just last year (an organization for mothers of active brothers who fund certain house projects), we have begun the process of fixing up a number of areas within the house that need work. A few of the projects financed by the Mother’s Club include: • • • •

Fixing the sliding pocket-doors to the formal room Replacing the chandeliers in the foyer, formal room, and billiards room A new patio and grill pit Several pieces of furniture

Another way that our chapter is creating lasting memories at 285 South Milledge Avenue is through the addition of engraved bricks next to our newly finished grill. Please see the link below if you have any interest in purchasing a brick with your name on it:

Upcoming Events Please join fellow alumni as well as the current executive board for a night of reminiscing about your journey down the Nile and an all around good time. Our first alumni reunion is Wednesday, March 27, at 6:30pm at the Macaroni Grill on Ashford Dunwoody in Atlanta, GA. Mark your calendars today and be on the lookout for the official invitation via email next week! Also, this fall we will celebrate our chapter’s Founders Day on October 26, 2013 with an all-day itinerary including house tours, an Alumni social hour, banquet and after-party. You will not want to miss our chapter’s 10-year anniversary Pellentesque: celebration. We hope to see you at a number of our football tailgates in the fall of 2013 as well.
