Are changes coming to MLS datasharing (SASI)? Board of Directors respond to letter received by 4 local associations.

At a joint Board of Director and MLS Committee meeting held February 24 the West Central Association directors voted unanimously to not change to the Add/Edit NorthStar program as requested in a letter received from the 4 local associations that use NorthStar MLS. What does this mean for WCAR members? Currently there will be no changes however in the future it could mean going to a different program to access listings from other associations. It could also mean not being able to access some of the other

associations data without going to a public website or joining an additional MLS system. At this time everything will remain as is, should things change we will update you immediately. The purpose of this article is to inform you there could be changes in the future with sharing data between associations however as of today the only decision made is that WCAR will not be giving control of our data fields to NorthStar MLS by using their add/edit program.

At the same meeting the board of directors approved datasharing through the FIND program with the REALTOR Association of Southern Minnesota based in Mankato. Look for more information as the program becomes active. Since the joint meeting both Duluth Area Association of REALTORS and Southeast Minnesota Association of REALTORS have notified WCAR that they will also be sharing data through FIND.

President's Message Your President is looking for suggestions.

Charles B. Holland WCAR President

Lately the Association has had difficulty filling education classes, informational meetings with the State Association, Realtor Day at the Capitol. (Thank you Willmar Realtors for stepping up and representing our Association). Our staff works hard to keep everyone informed of the

events going on in our Association and meetings that we should be participating in. Emails are sent to the Brokers/Managers for discussion at office meetings, they include information for signing up on our Paragon site, (has anyone ever seen a jumping smurf or animal on Paragon), does anyone read this Association news letter?

Please email me at charlesbholland@yah oo.com with any suggestions on how we can have better response and commitment from our members. Thank you for listening, Charles B. Holland WCAR President
