Prep School Activities

Anne Frank & Family 24th January - 18th February Free to Visit Anne Frank and Family, an exhibition of family photographs by Otto Frank, taken before World War Two will be free to visit at The Higgins Bedford from 24th January – 18th February 2018. The exhibition has been brought to Bedford by the Anne Frank Trust and forms a central part of Bedford’s Holocaust Memorial events. The exhibition has been shown in St Paul’s Cathedral, London, as well as in New York, Amsterdam and Frankfurt. It is accompanied by a collection of period toys, clothes and books, reflecting those captured in the photos, as well as educational resources for younger visitors.

Acorn Forest Schools Forest School Holiday Club Our Forest School Holiday Club is for children aged 4-12 and is based in Salcey Forest (Northants) and Shenley Wood (Milton Keynes). The club runs in every holiday except Christmas, usually for 3-4 days a week.

Discover the exciting activities at IWM Duxford this Half Term. The Lancaster Experience Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday Open from 11.30am to 3.30pm Family friendly sessions to learn and hear the amazing stories of Bomber Command as you peer into the legendary Lancaster Bomber. The Lancaster Experience offers an insight into the dangerous and difficult conditions endured during wartime missions.

Find out about the role the aircraft played in the war, what the crew did and the specific history behind IWM Duxford’s own Avro Lancaster, found in our AirSpace exhibit. A member of IWM staff will begin the day with an introductory talk at 11am which will last approximately 30 minutes. The main body of the aircraft will then be open for visitors to look into until 3.30pm.

Cinderella: A Museum Adventure Wednesday 14th February Dance performances at 11am, 12pm, 1.30pm, 3pm Dance workshops at 12.30pm and 2pm Enjoy the exciting collaborative dance project in response to Cinderella, a thrilling and evocative love story set during the Second World War by the ever successful English choreographer, Matthew Bourne OBE. Humour for Half Term If you are remaining at home and looking for something cultural to do with the family this half term, why not take your children to see a live broadcast of the RSC’s latest production of ‘Twelfth Night’?
