In light of the recent COVID-19 isolation restrictions, a number of you asked us for assistance to facilitate third party conferencing as you and your non-English speaking clients were more often than not in separate locations. While this option was already available in the current Telephone Interpreting Service, the onus to drive this was on you, the NZ Agency caller. Ezispeak and the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment have listened to your feedback and are pleased to announce that a new feature to facilitate third-party conferencing is now available. This new option will enable you to call the Telephone Interpreting Service and request through the automated menu that your non-English speaker be automatically connected to the call once your interpreter is available. This takes the pressure off you as you will no longer need to place the interpreter or your non-English speaker on hold, while you dial-in your third party to the call if you are not comfortable doing so.
