Matthew 2:1-12 The Wise Men, The Fool, and Grace
The Wise Men How ___________ are you willing to go to ______________________________?
What have you sacrificed? What would be willing to give up? What if it’s costly, inconvenient, or messes with your preconceived plans? What if it doesn’t make sense or is uncomfortable? What if you have no clue where it will lead you? Would you still go?
The Fool (Herod) Are you a “Christian” by ________________________ only?
Herod was appointed “King of the Jews” by the Romans, but had zero faith. Are you the “real deal” or a fraud like Herod? What evidence do you have for that? Have you truly repented of sin and trusted Jesus Christ? Read 1 John 5:13. Do you know that you have eternal life? Beyond a shadow of a doubt? If not, why not? Do you need to repent of your sin, trust Jesus, and become a Christian?
Grace (God’s amazing, unconditional, and undeserved love for you, in Jesus!) Have you experienced God’s ________________________? Or at a heart level do you still believe it’s all on you?
Read Ephesians 2:1-10. What’s the difference between grace and works (law)? What is the end result of grace? What is the end result of works (law)? Does the way we live matter? Have you experienced God’s grace??? Have you truly repented of sin and trusted Jesus Christ?
