“A common phrase in our society is ‘if something’s not broken, don’t fix it!’ You can apply this quote to Waingels College. To current students contemplating continuing Sixth Form at Waingels, why change a formula which you have been extremely successful with in the past?

“I joined Waingels College in the Sixth Form at the start of Year 12. I have found the college to be a warm, friendly inviting place, making me feel incredibly welcome by both the students and staff. They all took the time and extra effort to get to know me and my abilities, more so than might happen at a larger Sixth Form College.

Waingels Sixth Form also offers the opportunity for new students from other schools to be successful too. The Sixth Form adds a new sense of freedom to your education, where learning becomes truly independent and success is partly derived from your own personal effort outside of the classroom. With this sense of freedom also comes a positive and happy atmosphere which together makes Waingels the ideal place for you to be successful in the next stage of your education.”

The wonderful new facilities that Waingels now has to offer make the Sixth Form a great place to achieve and reach your full potential. The fantastic modern, open spaces, specially dedicated Sixth Form study areas and the plentiful ICT equipment makes Waingels an ideal place to study. The Sixth Form experience is very different from Years 7-11. You have to learn to work more independently, but with the help of the dedicated staff and new study spaces this is easily achievable for all students. Waingels is an exciting, lively place to be in the Sixth Form, whilst also being integrated within the rest of the school. You are given the opportunities to further your leadership skills by assisting with the needs of younger students, either through the Head Team or Community Captain roles. If you work hard you will most definitely be rewarded with a fantastic social life. Parties arranged by the Head Team are a tradition, as are the many ‘ice breakers’ between Years 12 and 13 and are always great fun. This all goes to make the time at Waingels Sixth Form a great experience and one that I can wholeheartedly recommend.”
