While marketed as a huge tax cut for businesses and individuals, not every change made by the new Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA) will result in lower taxes (or taxable income).
The relationship between employers and their employees has always been impacted by the tax code, and some of the changes made by the TCJA of 2017 will directly affect that relationship. Even something as simple and innocuous as employer-provided parking will be treated differently starting in 2018 unless employers make some changes to how the parking is provided and paid for.
