British Water Ski & Wakeboard is the National Governing Body for Waterskiing and Wakeboarding in the UK. A non-profit making organisation with all our income invested in developing and supporting the sport from the grassroots level through to our top athletes. Our aim is to work with our clubs, centres and members to maintain a safe, enjoyable and welcoming sport for everyone, ensuring that we remain inclusive and provide opportunities and pathways for a diverse participant base.
We are a central source of information and guidance for our members, participants, clubs and centres. As the hub for your sport, we work with you to
maintain standards and provide a number of relevant resources to facilitate the provision to our network of the tools to deliver our sport in the best way.
We are part of a social, exciting sport which brings with it a real community feel – a family sport that offers a connection and a sense of belonging. With a variety of disciplines and types of clubs / centres, we offer a dynamic and diverse sport which can offer something for everyone. We offer a sport that can provide positive mental wellbeing in addition to the many physical benefits. Join us, join our network, and be a part of setting the standards on water.
SETTING THE STANDARD ON WATER
Accreditation provides additional value to a centre specifically associated within the commercial aspect of the sport. This is intended to add value in accordance with BWSW's Accreditation checklist requirements which include biennial site visits with a focus on visual checks and owner confirmation as regards the existence of key documents. The site visit also includes verification that staff have the necessary BWSW qualifications with the required
certifications applicable to each role, with a view to ensuring that both the staff and facilities meet the required standards. As a result, accreditation is intended to recognise and promote sites that meet those requirements and therefore raise the quality of the experience to provide a fun and secure environment for participants. Our accreditation programme is open to any commercial boat and / or cable centre.

Individual membership includes personal accident and liability insurance, four hard copy magazine issues per year, e-newsletters, entry to competitions nationally and internationally and access to a range of qualifications.
In addition, individual membership includes various discounts and offers from a number of providers as well as educational support from some key partners.
Full benefits can be found on our website along with our membership benefits leaflet. We can provide additional copies of our leaflet to you if required to assist with the promotion of the BWSW membership package.
E-Membership is free and available to those involved within our sport who are not yet committed to BWSW membership. The purpose of the free membership is to better develop engagement with non member participants in our sport. Whilst membership income is crucial to the governance of our sport and inclusion on an international stage, we must also better engage with and understand the number of diverse individuals within the non member community.
To support the growth of E-Membership, BWSW have created a beneficial rebate scheme. Accredited centres will receive a rebate of £1 per E-Member sign up. (T&Cs apply).
