Greg, I can only speak for myself. Large watches are not for me. They do not fit me and they do not look good on me. Through trial and error, I have found that 48 or 48mm is about my top limit. Sometimes I make a remark such as "too big," though usually I say "it's too big for me." I really don't mind the existence of oversized watches. What irks me is that for the last several years (that is, the whole time I've had an interest in collecting watches) staple companies such as Invicta and Renato do not put the kick-butt movements into their regular or mid-size watches. The oversize pieces have been getting all the 7750's and Valgranges and DD movements. For example, I like my midsize SAS, but I'd love it if it were an automatic.
