ShopNBC INVENTORY COUNTS?

As I am looking at Invicta's today and as I click on watches most say there are only 2 available in stock including the TTV. anyone else notice this? Are they hiding the stock on hand amounts or is it a site glitch? Any thoughts?

It might just be a temporary glitch or ShopNBC's IT department was asked to prevent customers on the Internet from being able to view the inventory. If you're interested in a watch and see only two are available, is more of an incentive to buy immediately then seeing hundreds are still available for sale.

Today's TTV only list 8 watches are being available for sale, 2 in each color. I'm sure there is well over 1000-1500 still available. They started out with 2701 last night. This glitch or change in viewing capability occurred during the night. __________________

I don't know if it's a glitch or was done intentionally. If it was done intentionally the reason most likely was to improve sales? __________________

I get a kick during the shows when I see "more just arrived" and it's a Sunday evening. How did they "just" arrive? I didn't think shippers delivered on a Sunday evening at 8pm ET?

ET? It's hard to motivate a viewer into buying by saying the item is on its way to selling out, when the viewer can determine how many are still available. __________________

There must be a problem. I was watching the count on the san4 and it said 2 gold and 2 combat but Jill never said almost sold out. Now I went back to see if sold out and now it doesn't even show limited quantities. I just went into inventory and it shows 2 of each. reserveman View Public Profile Send a private message to reserveman Send email to reserveman Find all posts by reserveman Add reserveman to Your Contacts #14 Today, 09:19 AM

Funny i was just checking the TTV to see counts on the grey. I really wonder if they cought on to us and try to keep the actual quatities a secret. Something kinda of wrong about not disclosing the actual quantities IMO. crx21000 View Public Profile Send a private message to crx21000 Find all posts by crx21000 Add crx21000 to Your Contacts #15 Today, 09:33 AM

I agree, it lowers my respect at how they do business at the Shop. In the past I have seen a lot of TTV's go to a "Final Presentation" with hundreds in stock on slow movers just so they can push "once onlys" and then not even sell out of the TTV's. leelovesbug View Public Profile Send a private message to leelovesbug Find all posts by leelovesbug Add leelovesbug to Your Contacts #16 Today, 09:37 AM Join Date: Mar 2008 Location: Long Island, New York Posts: 5,324 Real Name: Jerry

When TTVs are not selling they stop presenting them. I assume their reasoning is why waste air time presenting something not selling, and look to push other items more likely to sell. __________________

They just changed it again. Now on the description page NO remaining quantity is listed(it was all 2 available before) but still only 2 on hand on the source page. My guess is that ShopNBC did not like the fact that people could check the inventory at anytime so they plugged the hole. Invicta did the same thing with the SundayRun. People were able to see what was comming up and the price. Invicta plugged that hole fast. It is their site and it is their call on this issue this but I sure will miss not being able to check the inventory. __________________

Interesting. I thought a previous response on this topic a while ago stated it wasn't anywhere near the accurate inventory levels we were seeing on the website. I guess this proves the numbers we saw were accurate or close to it. It doesn't matter since a good price for any watch is what each of us is willing to spend for it. __________________ Too many watches, not enough time. On two different occasions, quantity for TTV watches were posted that I saw and I commented that they were not accurate. Perhaps the numbers were changed on the website later? Don't know, didn't check. However, the numbers showing when I looked at the thread were not close to being correct and I stated as much in my comments. __________________ Michael

If it's none of our business (and perhaps you're correct there) why do hosts very very frequently put such an emphasis on quantity? If the information is correct why hide it? Jim, did our knowing what was left in the inventory on a watch, hurt SHOP NBC in any way? While I realize it isn't my business knowing how many watches the Shop has in its inventory, any more than it is the Shop's business to how much money is in my bank account, as a purchaser, having inventory knowledge allows me to plan purchase priorities and act quickly on items that are in lesser quantities, so that I won't possibly miss out if I wait. (If I am shopping in a store, in most instances, when I see a display watch, if I ask how many of that watch are in stock, the dealer will usually tell me in specific or general terms. My intent in asking is merely to figure how quickly I need to make my purchase decision; sooner if there fewer in stock.) I'am not too concerned about the quantities, IMO it is a same old/same old, boring watch, at an inflated price. As a TTV this watch should be offered at $69. Bet we'll see these available for a long time.............. who says they are inflated , do you know how too make and price a watch no!! i just love it when people try too think what a watch should cost sheesh! just to be clear i know everyone doesn't like every watch. if you do not like the watch fine no problem. or if you want the watch but at a lower price wait or get it off another site where they decide the seling price jericho View Public Profile Send a private message to jericho Find all posts by jericho Add jericho to Your Contacts #30 Today, 02:09 PM

I agree with BabyDoc and I just posted this reply to JIM on the Ask Jim Forum page; Thanks for clearing that up JIM but I really don't feel that I was "stealing" or using that info against the Shop. I understand the Shop's point for taking it away and I will miss not having to rely on that information for future purchases.
