July 23, 2010 - According to the Greene County Sheriff ’s Department, Justin S. Johnson, 21, pulled up to the drive-through window of a local bank and attempted to cash a check for 1 million dollars. According to the probable cause affidavit, Johnson received a blank check from a man for whom he had worked. Johnson then allegedly filled the check out for $1 million dollars and signed the man’s name. He was booked into the Greene County Jail and charged with a class-c felony forgery. Bond was set at $10,000.

Body Attachment

According to police, James D. Vestal, 37, of Linton, was arrested on July 18, 2010, after Linton police determined that Vestal was a participant in a local bar fight, after which he allegedly fired off seven gun shots in a residential area of Linton. Errors and Dropped Charges Are You Pictured Here? If you are pictured here, that means a record of your arrest has been reported by local law enforcement agencies. If you feel that this has been done so in error, please contact your local sheriff ’s department. Errors & Dropped Charges If your image was printed in error, or if your charges have been dropped, please notify us at editor@watchdogweekly.com and, upon verification of your claims, we will print this information in Watchdog Weekly the following week.

Cold Case Cards Indiana State Police and Prison officials have released a new deck of playing cards that are available for prisoners to purchase. They are the only cards available for inmates to buy and officials are hoping that the cards will jar memories of inmates and hopefully provide clues to help investigators solve a case. Each of the 52 cards in the deck is a profile and photo of an unsolved homicide or missing person. They also serve as a reminder to inmates that the victim’s families have suffered through years of unimaginable grief and uncertainty. Over the next several issues, Watchdog Weekly will feature a number of these cards in hopes that it will jar someone else’s memory as well. If you have information about any of the cases featured, please contact the Indiana State Police Hotline at 1-800-453-4756. Even if you think the information you have is not important or won’t be helpful, it could very well be the missing link the family and friends of the victims have been waiting for.

Cold Case Card: Lola

July 2010 - Two people have been charged in an attempted homicide in Ephrata, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, that the district attorney has characterized as “cruel” and “outrageous.” Alisa Loump, 23, of Ephrata, PA, and Antoine Dewayne Walker, 18, of Edinburgh, Indiana, are both in custody, according to a police news release. Loump and Walker met online and were dating. Loump’s mother, Jennie, didn’t want them dating so the pair planned to kill her, District Attorney Craig Stedman said. Alisa Loump boiled water in an 8-quart pot while on the phone with Walker. Alisa Loump then poured the boiling water onto her mother’s face as she lay sleeping in bed. Officers said when they arrived, Jennie Loump was screaming and crying in pain. Her skin was blistering and peeling as she was taken by helicopter to a Pennsylvania hospital specializing in burn victims. She was listed in critical condition and suffered burns over more than 70 percent of her body. Alisa Loump is being held in Lancaster County. Walker is being held in Indiana. Alisa is charged with attempted homicide, conspiracy to commit homicide, assault and recklessly endangering. Walker, who confessed to the plot, was also arrested in Indiana and will be extradited to Pennsylvania. He’s charged with attempted homicide and conspiracy as well. Source: WGAL.com
