Two of the bard’s best portrayals of the rise and tragic fall of the powerful, Julius Caesar and Antony and Cleopatra, will be staged by the Shakespeare Theatre Company this month at the Sidney Harman Hall, a part of the Harman Center for the Arts. DOCU-EMPOWERMENT The 2008 AFI/Discovery Channel Documentary Festival opens on June 16 with the North American premiere of Bill Maher’s RELIGULOUS, directed by Larry Charles (Borat). The film is an exploration of world religions and an equal opportunity offender. The 2008 Guggenheim honoree is Spike Lee, who’s most recent documentary work is When the Levees Broke: A Requiem in Four Acts. Lee will be honored by special guests, including Danny Glover, and a gala celebration of New Orleans will follow.
