GAMING THE GAME
THE WEEK AHEAD
This is the Ho Park’s baseball league, we just live in it. The Roads continue to climb while ‘Fizzle continues to descend with the bottom near. Page 2
A competitive owner will do what it takes to win, even if that means compensating for bad pitching with the tricks of the DLB: the Blitz and the Gambit. Page 3
Are there important matchups this early in the season? If you’re playing some of the hurting teams and can get a big 10-0 week, I say yes. Pages 4
Rank (last week)
ARod is not the story, Willingham & Ordonez power the Park
A great week by any standard, but 9-1 against Clevelanders.
Starting pitchers struggle, but Burrell & Furcal force 5-5 tie.
Hitters sweep the offensive cats, but no wins/saves is ominous
Papi stays warm, pitchers are red hot, 6w, 62ks, 2.48 & 1.07
Who is McLouth, other than the guy holding Clips together?
Crawford & Smoltz (sb & ks) stave off a total rout.
RBI & Average machine, but vulnerable in every other cat.
Ellsbury & FLopez have good week, force 4-4 tie vs Squerlz
Cliff Lee and company out duel L-dogs to force 4-4 tie
Hot infielders (less Huff) help team bat .330, win offense 4-0-1
D Wright ice cold, JJ only wins single category, 3 ties vs. bully
How do you hit 9 home runs in a week, but lose 8 categories?
Chewed up by Red Legs offense, team struggles with injuries.
Holes in their bats? 6 wins & 62ks is a solid sign of life.

I split the league into 4 categories, A, B, C, and D, with A being the best

Chan’s Ho Park
I finally had a reason to modify the above pictures, because I found out that Ted, the CHP owner, is a Mets fan, not a Yankees fan. Shea Stadium has replaced Yankee stadium above. Sadly, the Clevelanders have not been replaced as the most likely ticket purchaser.
Having said all that, I have

You may not have heard about it, but now is the time to try this texting website. Twitter is a free service that lives somewhere between the lines of instant messaging, cell phone texting, and blogging. Put simply, it is a website where you leave brief messages for your friends to read. I recommend everyone in this league go to twitter.com and sign up for a free account, especially if youʼre into texting. Important points about twitter: 1. Twitter works with your cell phone, just text to twitter and your message is updated. 2. When your friends put up a message on twitter, you receive them on your cell phone. 3. Effectively you can text with all your friends at the same time. Here is a real world example. Last night I was texting the Predator, the GANGSTARS, and the Lakedogs at the same time, having related but separate conversations about the Celtics game. What I wanted was to text with all 3 of them at the same time. With all 4 of us on twitter that is exactly what would have happened. I would have sent my texts to twitter and they would have been sent out to my twitter friends, and vice versa. Twitter has been out for a year and has a large following in the technology industry, and I suspect that it will hit the mainstream within a few years. I urge you to adopt early and be a frontiersman in the wild, twitter west.
So easy, even caveman Garry Stone is on Twitter!

SMOLTZ ON DL
You want to play the Angry One now before he gets a computer at home and can start making roster moves again.
Is there any precedent for firing a coach mid-playoffs and inserting Larry Brown as the head coach of an NBA team?
How hard is Dube patting himself on the back? Could he suffer a major back injury from so much self praise?
