The marriage is typically solemnised in an Arya Samaj temple and then registered in the court. The couples only have to pay for their m arriage expenses, legal procedures and special protection. “We spend on their food, shelter and medical emergencies. There have been cases where the couple had nothing but it was a genuine case, so we had to bear the wedding expenses as well,” says Sachdev. There are seven safe houses across Delhi and NCR. The group is also running 200 makeshift shelters across the country, run by couples who were previously helped by Love Commandos.
