The right design surface can be used to gain energy and preserve heat. One useful value for determining an optimized building form is called A/V-ration(Heating-radiation surfaces (A) / Volume (V)). A low A/V-ratio saves costs and energy. As the volume of the compact forms increases, the area decreases and the transmission heat loss is diminished.

TECHNOLOGY STRATEGY ANALYSIS

SUSTAINABLE STRATEGIES The sustainability strategies can reduce the energy consumption of the Exhibition center. The design aims to express the environmental commitment of the project.


Through the comparison of evaporation cooling, ventilation and other six kinds of passive technology with consideration of the site, we choose three types of technology: natural ventilation, passive solar energy, and high energy storage materials. From figure B and D, we can conclude that the thermal comfort significantly enhanced after applying the technology. But the effects of six passive technology do not work better than the optimal three techniques.
