The Entrepreneurship Exploration Summer Camp (EESC), organized by Wall Street Juniors, was a threeday community engagement project designed to provide students from the Cornwallis Community with a hands-on and immersive experience in entrepreneurship This camp aimed to inspire, educate, and empower children, youth, and parents/guardians by introducing them to various aspects of entrepreneurship.

The Entrepreneurship Exploration Summer Camp had a profound impact on the Cornwallis community, particularly on the 21 unique individuals between the ages of 6-18 who participated. These young participants came from households with low economic status, making the camp an invaluable opportunity for them to learn and grow Here is an overview of the camp's reach and the contributions of various community partners:

Camp Participants:

Demographics: The camp catered to a diverse group of 21 individuals living in the Cornwallis community. These participants came from households facing economic challenges, which makes their engagement in the camp even more significant

Age Range: The participants' ages ranged from 6 to 18 years, showcasing the camp's inclusivity and its ability to engage a wide range of young minds

Unique Individuals: Each participant brought their unique talents, ideas, and aspirations to the camp, contributing to a rich and diverse learning environment.

Parental Involvement:

Volunteer Support: Parents actively participated as volunteers, emphasizing the importance of community involvement and support Their contributions played a vital role in the smooth functioning of the camp and added a sense of unity within the community

Community Partners: The success of the camp was greatly amplified by the collaboration of various community partners, including:

American Underground: Hosting the camp's first day at American Underground provided participants with a glimpse into the broader entrepreneurial ecosystem It allowed them to see firsthand what entrepreneurship looks like in action Project 1 Timothy 6:6: The volunteers and leaders of Project 1 Timothy 6:6 assisted with bringing the entire camp together by canvassing the community to register youth participants, collaborating with local organizations for additional resources such as transportation, space for community learning sessions, and additional support to further enriching the experiences of the participants.

Wall Street Juniors: As the leading organizer, Wall Street Juniors played a pivotal role in designing, coordinating, and executing the camp Their expertise in finance and entrepreneurship brought a wealth of knowledge to the participants

Yates Baptist Church: The involvement of Yates Baptist Church contributed to the camp's community-focused and inclusive atmosphere. YBC provided a safe and reliable transportation for the camp activities.

Community Development: The Entrepreneurship Exploration Summer Camp not only provided valuable educational experiences but also fostered a sense of advancement within the Cornwallis community By engaging youth from low-economic status households, the camp aimed to break down barriers and create opportunities for personal and financial growth The Cornwallis community is undoubtedly stronger and more resilient thanks to initiatives like this.

Post Camp Report

The Entrepreneurship Exploration Summer Camp, led by Wall Street Juniors and held over three days, successfully achieved its objectives of inspiring, educating, and engaging the Cornwallis Community in entrepreneurship. This community engagement project has left a lasting impact, empowering participants with valuable skills and experiences that will serve them well in the future, while also fostering a stronger sense of community in Cornwallis. Overall our youth had a total gross revenue of over $500 from the Community Pop Up Shop and Showcase.

Program Impact and Success Stories:

Since the conclusion of the Entrepreneurship Exploration Summer Camp, we are thrilled to share the significant impact and exciting developments within our youth entrepreneurship community. The camp served as a catalyst for positive change, empowering our participants to embark on their entrepreneurial journeys.

Ongoing Pop-up Shops and Vending Opportunities:

Our youth entrepreneurs have not only embraced the entrepreneurial spirit but have also actively put their newfound skills into practice. Since participating in the camp, they have taken part in three additional pop-up shops and vending opportunities within the Triangle area. This practical experience has allowed them to refine their business acumen, enhance their customer service skills, and gain a deeper understanding of market dynamics.

Paid Internship/Apprenticeship Success:

One of our outstanding youth participants has achieved a remarkable milestone by securing a paid internship/apprenticeship as a Hair Stylist Assistant. This achievement is a testament to the skills, confidence, and work ethic instilled during the camp. It not only reflects the participant's personal growth but also highlights the potential for our program to open doors to exciting career opportunities

Parental Engagement and Entrepreneurial Interest:

The positive ripple effects of our camp extend beyond the participants themselves. We are delighted to share that parents of our youth participants have expressed a keen interest in entrepreneurship. Many of them attended a business summit aimed at enhancing their knowledge This demonstrates the broader impact of our program, milies within our community.

One of the noteworthy aspects of this event is that the youth were able to keep all the profits they generated Allowing the youth to keep the profits reinforces financial independence and responsibility It encourages them to manage the revenue they earned, potentially saving, reinvesting, or using it to fund future entrepreneurial endeavors This experience helps instill valuable financial management skills at a young age.
