Lace up your sneakers to explore the cultural heritage of Ōtautahi with this activity trail exploring Christchurch Art Gallery Te Puna o Waiwhetū, Tūranga Central Library, Canterbury Museum and the Christchurch Botanic Gardens. Pick up a copy of the trail from any of the above venues and get walking around the central city. Approx distance: 5km SATURDAY

Dunes at Dawn

Time: 6.30am–7.30am Meet: New Brighton Clock Tower, Marine Parade Rain date: Sunday 18 April 2021 Join us for a stunning walk watching the sunrise over New Brighton beach! Heading north along the dunes and back along the beach, watch the sunrise over the sea with picturesque views of the Kaikoura ranges, New Brighton Pier and Port Hills!

Ōtukaikino to Waimakariri River Loop

Time: 8am–2.30pm Rain date: Saturday 24 April 2021 Meet: The Groynes Reserve fishing lakes. Main entrance to the Groynes is off Groynes Drive (off Johns Road). Follow signage from the park’s main entrance to the staging area. Join park rangers on a guided loop walk of epic proportions! Starting at The Groynes, the walk follows the Ōtukaikino Stream to the Waimakariri River on a unique long distance adventure right on Christchurch’s northern edge. Participants must be fit enough to walk all day and carry food, etc. No age limit.
